Wild you say that! I've been considering starting a pallet business next month because it can't be beat for a side gig to be free to do other stuff. Will check it out!

My step-dad started Australia's best-known pallet company way back in the day, called CHEP. He got involved in so many things and couldn't stick with anything for more than a year or so. Had he done so he would've done really well.

On the wall-covering thing, I still like packing blankets. They're not as broadband as other solutions, but they're big-and-cheap comparatively-speaking.

Chep is huge - even here in the US! I see them every day. I think I even see them in my sleep.

Wow, I didn't know they'd expanded overseas! Yeah, when driving around you see the name everywhere.

I just checked - it was originally the Allied Materials Handling Standing Committee, formed during WWII, so I must be getting confused. I'm calling his wife for her birthday today so I'll ask what the name of the pallet company was.

Funny, I remember his saying something about using the initials of his three daughters for the acronym and over the years I've struggled to find a way to make CHEP work this way 'cause not all the letters fit. Silly me.

Ha! I just found out what it was. It was JELRAC. It used the girls' first and second names in order of birth:
Joanne Elisabeth, Lauren Rene and Amber Claire.

I just did a search and it seems the company is no more. At any rate, being the entrepreneurial type he was back in the day, it can't have been a bad idea to start that company (1980s), so I say go for it Nigel. Pallets are always needed and have limited lifespans, so you can't go wrong I reckon.

Work in progress.
No absorption panels up yet, although I have a bunch of white Basotect waiting to be mounted; self-adhesive versions for the slanted ceiling.

Still working on the cable management part of it, but I got my stereo and a few guitars to my left. more guitars to my right and my guitar workshop right behind. It's a fairly large space.

Wow, what a sweet tribute setup! Ed was pretty much the Christ of modern rock guitar, such huge contributions to the art. Fitting space man, bravo!

Is that a Tone Master??? I’m a Zinky guy and that “Color and the Shape” Dave Grohl Foo Fighters' tone with the Mesa OS really became the sound in my head for years. It’s why I fell in love with the Zinky Mofo: Mofo channel is from the Tone Master, modded ‘59 Bassman! The TMB tonestack is wild and is a real challenge to comprehend the relationships creatively, so interactive! Flat is like T5 B5 M10 if you have a 25k pot. I went to 50k thanks to Ed via Pete Thorn and Dave’s killer video.

This forum is so special and I’m so grateful to have the privilege of talking with all these absolute legends that are crushing!

I miss my led strip! Had that amber one, died. Now that I’m all incandescent I don’t think I can go back tho! It’s got that comfy Christmas/Stanley Kubrick vibe down low.
