Surprised they omitted the modeling code, interesting. :)

Totally takes any interest I might have had away. Why would they do that?

Too hard to dial stuff in... I had an axefx, way prefer eventide H9's for ease of use.

ohhhhhh.... I'm I gonna get in trouble for speaking poorly of Fractal? *looking over shoulder*

It is meant to be an effects unit that interfaces with tube amps. It is not meant to be a total modeller like the Axe-FX II.

No amp models probably to keep costs down: needs less processing power for just FX. But how much cheaper is the question...

Very interested in this for sure! The FX in the Axe are amazing!

This could be awesome depending on the price. Axe effects have always been excellent. But if this thing is over $1000, and I imagine it will be, I'll wait for a used one.

It will probably sound great. I know it will be a better option than the Nova because of it's 4CM, but the effects will need to be extremely good if it has to justify being over twice the price of the Nova.

I have owned the TC Nova and an Axe Standard and Ultra. I loved the Nova considering that it would change channels on my Mark IV with an Amp Gizmo. The chorus was bad but the Mod effect was a good alternative. No 4CM though. That said, the effects in the Axe were better so I suspect this will have way better effects. If they price this right, there will be a bunch of TC stuff on eBay very quickly.

That's fine by me because Fractal's modeling isnt worth the price or CPU usage. Depending on the price for this thing I may say the effects arent worth it either

I'm sure some would as I'm sure some fan boys here would be as well. It's all relative..... with all gear there comes a point of diminishing returns in tonality and price. Some think the extra money is worth the perceived tonal improvement and some like myself do not. I jammed with a guy a couple of weeks ago who had a rig many on these forums would totally laugh at. It sounded great and sat in the mix of a band very well.... much better than rigs three times it's price.

So would Metallica who use the Axe II exclusively for all amps/effects on their current tour. They sound as good if not better than ever amazingly enough

But of course it's not good enough for some forum/bedroom/local bar rockstars

Like a moth to a flame.

Looks cool, I wonder if a smaller and cheaper version is in the works too. I am guessing this thing will be well north of $1000.

Looks like a G System killer. Although I have had a lot of problems whenever I tried 4CM with amps whether it be tone suck or noise. I thought the G System was horrible in 4CM. The Axe 2 was the best piece I ever used for a 4CM with an amp so I wonder how good this will be. But yeah, I just built a pedalboard after giving up on multi units. There really IS something about certain analog pedals that digital multi's just can't touch. And I'll include the Strymon stuff in that comment as well........*flame suit on*

Agreed on the front end- I love a TS pedal in the front of an amp. But in the loop, I'm open. FWIW the 11R was decent at 4cm (but to me not so great on its own)
