I took possession of this guitar 2 weeks ago and I havent been able to put it down. It is simply the best guitar I have ever played. I have own lots of guitars, from Gibsons to PRS´s to Jackson, Charvels, Ibanez, Ernie Ball, ESP, GMW and Tom Anderson, to name some. The Suhr blows them all. At least that is my experience based on playing this guitar pretty much non stop for the past 2 weeks. The setup was impeccable. Action really low, and intonation right on spot. The details on the guitar are worth every penny. I even like the Gotoh trem way more than the Original Floyd Rose I have in my Tom Anderson. The neck feels incredible and the fret work is top notch. The Aldrich pickups sound incredible with my Friedman Marsha rig. I took a picture of the rig and the guitar for your viewing pleasure. Right I need to sell my Tom Anderson to fund another Suhr. My quest for finding the right guitar brand is over.

What's the neck shape and radius? Nice rig!!

That is precisely what happened to me after buying my first Suhr Standard. Be careful down the new road of Suhr's, as I now have nine, and it's been an addiction. Love the pic and your setup!

Beautiful guitar! I had a Suhr and never bonded with it but I think it was mostly the pickups. Also, it was more of a vintage style (like a Fender Strat) and I really wanted a modern type. The Aldrich pickups are awesome!

" The Suhr blows them all." The Suhr blows them all AWAY. :D

Seriously... awesome rig. Would love to hear some clips.

I love the Gotoh, as well, although I've honestly never played a Suhr I liked better than an Anderson.

Glad you found a great one!

It's all personal preference. Most Anderson's sounded better to me for hard rock and metal. Suhr's single coil pup's sound more Fenderish though.

However.....all I'm playing these days is Ernie Ball because I'm hooked on the neck shape. My average sized hands are very thankful and I love the 1 5/8 nut width.

Killer rig you have there!!! I'm a Suhr man myself!

How is the BE?

I'm a big fan of 1 5/8ths, and I have relatively large hands...go figure.

I've been kicking around the idea of an Axis, lately.

I can relate to what Econ is saying. I play Suhrs exclusively now. And, I'm awaiting my new Suhr Standard which has gone into production this month! I sold two other guitars to fund it. They've had the same impact on me as described above. They speak to me like nothing else out there. When you know it....you just know it. I too have had a Tom Anderson, and while it was nice alright.....just didn't grab me like the Suhrs do. Econ, I can't tell you how many times I've looked at the pics of your Standard in your "first Suhr" thread....such a beautiful guitar! Congrats!

Same here about the 1 5/8ths....just had a conversation about that in an earlier thread. I've also got large meat hooks, but for whatever reason prefer 1 5/8. The Axis is nice....just wish it had jumbo frets and a flatter fb radius.

I normally take brand loyalty with face value - i dont care who's name is on the headstock, i simply let the guitar do the talking both unplugged and plugged in. Finish, neck pocket gap, QC, etc.

I have played many many suhr's, 3 custom shop JP6's, and 6 TA's of which the first one i ever played i wrote a detailed topic about. I tend to prefer the EVH charvel custom shop necks over the suhr modern's myself. I have never picked up a suhr guitar that just flat out blew away it all. I cant say the same for TA's - they feel right, the neck shapes are great and super comfortable to play on for hours, beautiful figures, and the pickups just flat out kill.

Congrats on your NGD it sounds like you have a keeper for sure - those dont come by often

My Suhrs do it for me over my TA's, they tend to sit it their cases, the Suhrs I play all the time and gig them too. Just feel like home.
