Completely gutted my kid’s Epiphone

Yanked the Fishman’s, drilled out pot holes, and replaced all wiring. Small magnet Dirty Fingers and Brandonwound A4 PAF. Bummed that I couldn’t get the aged white bridge ring to line up. Had to use the original one instead.

Nice job!
Good move yanking the Fishmans.
Never tried real deal Fishmans , but the epi Fishmans in my Cantrell Prophecy sucked donkey balls.
Gutted all the electronics, and put in a set of MCP afwayu's with cts pots and a switchcraft 3 way. Guitar kills now.
The current higher end epi's are really well made with nice wood and decent fretwork. They are still let down by sub par electronics, but that's easily fixable.
They are way better value for the $$ than most of the current gibson lineup.

Well. Don’t like the Dirty Fingers. Ordered a pair of proper cream pickguards and the matching PAF will be going in the bridge.
I really dislike what those little yellow Mallory caps do in that circuit. That is even with pickups I know I like. A ceramic .033 for Gibson vibes or PIO .022 or .015 for clarity or cut out that and make it V/V.

Way more middle position goodness with the V/V setup.

Awesome guitar too! Really dig that shape.

I kinda like the original look, but I'm starting to sour on covered pickups. Some cream pickups and matching pickup rings will look great though.
Converted one guitar, and now you're hooked, eh? Lol

They also sound different with or without covers. I specifically kept covers on my LP because I preferred the sound with them on in that case.
