Compressor trouble

I've recently joined a Disco/Funk group and i'm looking for a suitable Compressor pedal. I borrowed a Marshall ED 1 which seems ok, but its a little klunky and completely fudged my Tone when i kicked on any type of clean boost for leads.

I've looked into MXR's Dyna Comp and Super Comp, but i've heard they are very noisy and color your original signal too much. I'm using a Fender Blues Deluxe which is a very loud and 'direct' sounding amp. I'm just looking for a simple compressor to make my rhythm more even and take away that high end 'spike'.

any help would be grand :-D

Homebrew CPR. Make sure it's before any OD/Boost you have in your chain.

I did some research on them a while back and decided on a Keeley 4 knob....didn't buy it yet but it's on the list.

+1 amazing pedal - first in the chain is best imo

got this on the board at home, top knotch stuff , otherwise i'd really recommend the Barber Tone Press, i've been using that non stop since i got it just over a year ago , almost can't play without it anymore, can set it as transparent/subtle to as squashy as you want, it's always on in my rig whether i'm playing indie rock or the more mathy post rock stuff in the bands i'm in

most compressors add a certain extent of hiss/noise, with the level around unity gain it's not too noticeable tho

I use a Keeley I like a lot, but it's in the loop. Not at all the same thing.

I have a Rothwell Lovesqueeze. Totally transparent and very simple to use. Check out the Keeley Vs Lovesqueeze vid from Pro Guitar shop.

Homebrew, Barber Tone Press, Keely 4-knob. The 2 knob is great too

This is awesome man,   , I think i'm gonna go for this option haha.

Thanks for all the help guys, i think i'm gonna go with the HBE CPR Compressor, although they've just released a mini version which i'd prefer, but their not available yet here in the UK.

The diamond optical compressor is nice and transparent, but then again, I don't use a compressor
