So what you’re suggesting is that people should have just holed up until the virus disappeared? You realize that even the lockdown proponents knew that was impossible, right?

What should have occurred is what has been historically understood and practiced as the best response to a respiratory virus. Those at risk should isolate. Everyone else should go about their daily lives until (actual) herd immunity takes effect.

No it’s over. It was a nice exercise in patience, but it has shifted too far to futility.

If you could just once respond to me according to the premise I presented, it would be different, but neither you or denial seems to be capable or willing to do that.

I responded, but I’ll reiterate: it’s retarded. And inhumane. And unrealistic. And it wouldn’t work anyways, unless millions of people dying is a success. Not to mention the fact that the virus would continue in the “Animal reservoir,” so everyone that managed to survive emerging from their basement bunkers however many months later would still be exposed.

Like I said, even the lockdown proponents knew all this. The initial idea was to “Flatten the curve,” remember? The “curve”, with all the infections would still occur, but less intense over a longer period.

Best course was to isolate the vulnerable and get it over with quick.
