I dont think that I would trade my CU24 for any guitar. There are some I want like a Suhr, Gibson LP classic Iced Tea, and PRS SC245/250 but not enough to trade for them. If you have more than one PRS and have not bonded with it then yay.

yea ,i love my prs its more curiosity to see what the hype is about, since i have no dealers of suhr guitars within reasonable travel distances, its a crap shoot , could be :inlove: or

Understand   I want to try one also and dont have any close by to try. Might be a good thing not to have one to check out.

It depends really. The Suhr will sound more Straty than your PRS even with the humbuckers. And the neck shape is going to be a little different. If you have yourself a nice PRS then I'd say keep it. Since PRS guitars do vary a lot I'd say off it if you haven't bonded with it.

Suhr's are consistant with quality but that doesn't always translate to tone. The Suhr's i owned sounded a bit flat to me even though they played great and were top notch quality.

another jersey boy huh danyeo, im here in jersey also about an hour west of the shore

i played a anderson drop top ,beautiful instrument, but the neck felt fat to me .. gc actually had it ..but didnt have the specs on it ,would love to try another one

The concept of asking us what to do is weird - what made you get the PRS to start with? Was it playability or tone or feel or comfort or what? Blindly going with a different guitar would only be, IMHO, something GAS based... But remember, it's time and practise that makes talent - not the guitar. So if you've been comfy and cool with your PRS, keep it. I've played both and am a Suhr guy after my Les Pauls. They work for me - but that's JUST me...

Peace,
V.

I went from playing a PRS for about 6 years to playing Suhr's. Both are great guitars, I think I just like a strat style guitar because of the arm rest. Even though the PRS has a carved top it still has that little edge that digs into the underside of your forearm. So for me it a cofort issue, not playability or sound. I would not mind to get another PRS just to have it around.

Depends, does your PRS have a 3-way toggle or thet 5way rotary? :)

On a serious note, depends on the specs of the standard, what wood type/neck/pickups? Not all Suhrs are equal, they are specced however the person likes. I had a Standard that I sold with a maple neck that I couldn't bond with, neck just felt stiff and weird to me after awhile, my Modern on the other hand is so much better sounding and feeling.

not asking what to do,the trade was presented to me, and not being able to play a suhr guitar, i thought i would check with felow members here ,which im sure have owned both guitars.. now both guitars being high end guitars i was curious as to what other members felt about each guitar and if they would make that type of trade

No, no, I get it... I wasn't being a prick. But what I'm getting at is it's entirely a super personal thing man, I mean, soooooooo personal. For example, I wanted to get a single coil tone from a guitar for ages - so I was trying all these Fenders out - all different vintages and so forth - and couldn't play one to save my life. I tried a few other "strat proper" styles, and then one day came across (thanks to my distributor connection) a Suhr. I loved it. And now have another custom job en route.

My experience with PRS is completely different as I'll take a Les Paul over a PRS any day. I'll take a Suhr over a PRS any day. But man, there's a ton of cats who'd say the exact opposite and they'd be right to do so...

Super personal.

 its all good bro, i know exactly what you mean, as much as i like the prs , i do wonder if this one guitar or that one guitar will be the one :D ive been playing 25+ years and most of them on a charvel or jackson, the greatest guitar ive ever played was a buddys gibson black beauty from the early nintys the thing was incredible and i love a good les paul..had a few, i personally have a hard time playing higher scale stuff standing up with them.. i wish i could find that one guitar thats a dream to play

3 way toggle  I dont know what Paul was thinking with that rotary

After playing close to a dozen PRS guitars till I found this one then I changed my pick-ups to SD JB jazz pups and now feels like a keeper.

To trade id have to play it first. Rarely have I just picked up a guitar and it felt good, usually have to go through 8-12 to find the one that feels right.

Go with the Suhr! I have had 2 PRS Custom 24's. While they looked amazing, I could never get on with the way the neck felt or how the guitar sounded. They always seem a but lifeless to me.

For the record, my '57 Black Beauty is soooooooooooooooooooooooo legend, man... Like buttah!! My fave player (tied with my '57 GTDB). Ya, it'll be a tough decision, but if at ALL possible, maybe get your hands on a couple before making a decision. Personally? I've always felt PRS was (at least as of late) more name than game, but again - that's just me personally.

Peace,

Tough call. I had three PRs guitars. My fave was my custom 24. I have a Suhr GG modern that I am very comfortable with. It is a very lively guitar and has great tone imo. Unplugged it resonates nicely. Definitely not flat and dead sounding. Not even close. It is more lively than the three PRS's I had. I tghink the wood combo means alot. The GG is Mahogony body, maple top, mahogony neck and Pao Ferro board. Sounds great. My LP Custom and Vigier are collecting dust, althoughI am swapping the pickups in the Vigier because it is a nice axe. The neck has a killer aged feel to it. The Gibson is flawless. I just keep picking the Suhr up. As long as you trade for good value, you won't lose out on a resale if needed.
