If you really like the PRS, don't do it. Find another way to buy a used Suhr. Nothing worse than getting rid of a guitar for GAS reasons. Different if you can try the guitar and if you bond....then make the trade.

I much prefer the SSV and SSH+ over the Aldrich. They are similar but I find this combo to be much more expressive. The wood combo on the Suhr is very key. I and a few others much preferred the mahogony and maple top over the basswood. The mahogony neck is very stable. My guitar stays in tune for a long time.JKD":2afzlofz said:I wouldn't trade my PRS (Cu22) for a Suhr.....I think all 3 of the Suhrs I've owned played a little better/easier than the PRS...but the sound/tone of the PRS is superior in almost every way...there, I said it..and I don't care if it hurts the sale of my Modern ;-)
I owned a Suhr LE'08, S3 and the current Copper M2.
...now if I'd taken the time to change the pickups in the LE...then *maybe* it would've been closer but as everyone said the Aldrich are the the bees nips...well.
dude i love your modern,im suprised that its still for sale, how is the 1-5/8 nut feel on it ,JKD":2xe8bh6z said:I wouldn't trade my PRS (Cu22) for a Suhr.....I think all 3 of the Suhrs I've owned played a little better/easier than the PRS...but the sound/tone of the PRS is superior in almost every way...there, I said it..and I don't care if it hurts the sale of my Modern ;-)

Actually, picking the shape of the earlier instruments (violins etc, are all based on the shape of a woman for a reason. but shape and feel are two very different things. Everyone that I've given permission to play my Suhr to has told me its an amazing instrument. I haven't played an anderson, but I've played the shit out of my Suhr Modern and its hands down the best instrument that I've played short of the Strat that I played in the 70's at Michigan State when I was a much younger and unknowing person. That Strat was nothing short of magic, and I wish I could find a guitar of the same caliber, not certain one exists though. but I think that John Suhr is onto something with the gift and talents he has, and yet within a price range that most of us can afford, you all owe it to yourself to try something truly amazing . Shared with no vested interest...

I'm with you man, that Modern you have is the best feeling, and playing guitar I've ever played. That neck shape is just perfect IMO and it's fast. I've been gassing for one ever since then![]()
