and buying an M13.

I'm slowly building up a board. I current have:
Boss TU-2
Digitech Delay
MXR KKV EQ
MXR Phase 90.
Boss TR-2
Boss SD-1
Ibanez Tubescreamer

There's a bunch of others I want to get and I need to buy/make some patch cable to put it all together, more and more I'm thinking about keeping the tuner and the EQ and just getting a Line 6 M13 for everything else, up front and loop.

The amp is (or will be) a Peavey 6505+

Anyone else done this very thing? Happier?

I used to have all sorts of effects pedals and then went to rack stuff, and then back to pedals. Now I use the least amount I need to get by. I am much more into my tone now and pedals take away from tone. Wah, chorus, delay, and reverb is all I have now.

I thought I was going effect crazy, but really I've only got a few mod effects and an octave. So I'm just building a system where I can patch them into my signal where I want, without it taking over everything.

I still have the urge to get a rack effects unit and run that with anther amp in stereo with my MarkIV, but really don't want it to get too complicated. I'm happier with the simplicity and raw tone of just plugging straight into an amp and playing my guitar.

Yes. I did this and am happy. The sheer number of FX and ability to program/reprogram/rearrange them whenever you want is awesome on this unit. This includes volume pedals, tuner, everything is tap tempo capable etc,... Latest s/w update also makes loop placement programmable per patch. I am running 4CM thru an Uber and a Recto. YMMV

I'd say getting an M13 would leave you better off economically in the long run if you are still planning on expanding your pedalboard.

How are those Line 6 units supposed to be? The M9 has my interest piqued

I've heard of several people going this route on HRI, TGP. Lots of people that get them seem happy with the M13. I would like one to be my back up board.

I've had an M13 for about a year and a half and really like it. I still use real pedals for my drives but everything else is the M13. I'm really happy.
