'Coodercaster' Pickup selections?

I'm putting together a Ry Cooder style strat for slide and am looking for pickup suggestions. Ry uses an old Supro pickup in the bridge and a Gold Foil Teisco in the neck (Previously a PAF during the 80's). Can anyone suggest an alternative set to match 'That' sound? Possibly a Humbucker sized P90? The Teisco is really hard to find, and the Lollar Supro reissue although its identical i can't afford the £300 price tag

You might be able to find the old DeArmond gold foil pickups easier, and they are right in the wheelhouse. The newer DeArmond 2k singles can cop that tone, or a vintage style set of lipsticks.
