Just found some cool footage from a Megadeth soundcheck back on the Rust in Peace tour. Friedman and Ellefson are in good form for sure. Thought some of you might enjoy this

The soundcheck footage starts at/around 30:00, but tune it at 28:30 for some great hair.

Love how Elefson says "The Legacy" by Testament is pretty weak. I think that song is awesome...as is the whole Souls of Black album.

killer line up. I think that was there best crew. One thing, I wish menza would take off those deuche lord glass's he looks like a gerbal!

i love stuff like this. i saw them that next summer and met ellefson and mustaine. ellefson was very cool and nick menza acted quite nutty. we ignored him. friedman wouldn't come off the bus. damn hippie :)

What amps was Friedman using that era?
Crate Blue Voodoo? I know he was using them for years.

They had a original Bogner triple Giant not the Halfner one and VHT poweramps in one of the rack rigs in the video. Looked like it was on Marty's side of the stage.

I wasted over 3 hours of my life this week watching these so I cant remember where to look for that rack. I think it was at the Wembley show...

God damn this is the coolest shit ever

So cool that I, like EXPcustom, wasted 3+ hours of my life watching the vids. haha

Click to 38 minute mark to see Dave's rack, I guess it was not Marty's.

not time wasted at all.. very cool footage. i only watched the birmingham one, but it looked boring as hell sitting around in that small dressing room waiting to go on stage. i love their enthusiasm when they came backstage after the show and asked others for feedback regarding the show/crowd reaction. they didn't act like rockstars.. except for that pimp marty with the asian gals

Cool. I will definitely check this out. When was all of this released? I have never seen it.

That really was their best lineup. Lot's of guys can play as fast as Marty but just don't have the phrasing and note selection he has. Super tasty.
