I am trying to buy a friend's Marshall JCM 800, and I believe that it is a late 80's version with the input jacks that are side by side. I know many people don't prefer these to the vertical inputs. However, I was wondering if Dave can still do the BE and HBE mods to these versions of the JCM, or even the Kitchen sink mod. I am also wondering about his usual prices or if anyone on the board has an idea of his prices. I can get the amp at a good price but if he has to completely rewire the amp because the of the clipping diodes in the later JCM 800's, then I may think twice before buying the amp. I am going to play through it later this week and see if it matches to my playing but I was just wondering about mod info. Obviously, I am sure that the mod costs depend upon the amp and what you want to have done, but I am just looking for ballpark figures and if he can do the later 800 models. Thanks.

I can speak for myself, i had the Kitchen Sink mod done to a JMP, that was $700, which includes BE, HBE, & C45, plus i had Fat, Saturation, & Gain Cut mini toggles at $50 a piece plus shipping to & from Dave's. Shipping total was roughly $150.

It's one of the best decisions i've ever made. :2thumbsup:

Yeah I can do that amp if its just a plane single channel 800. There are no clipping diodes until the Jubilee or the full 2 channel 800. Cost are 1 mod 500.00 each one after is 100.00 more. So the Kitchen sink is 700.00 3 mods. Most additional switches are 50.00. Just like stated. Other things feel free to pm me.

Dave,

Is the OT that you developed for Plexi/Superleads available; can I order one or send my amp in to get one installed? A few of the guys over at the Metro site, that had it installed, says it's the shit and it helps in nailing Ed's early tone. When I switched my NFB from 47k on the 16 ohm tap to 100k on the 4 ohm tap, it was an ahhaaa moment, but I think the C1998 Dagnall clone I have might be the wrong OT for that NFB setup. If it's possible, what would the cost of the OT be?
