I remember reading about this guy all the time in the 90s, 00s
Easy to see some of the newer guys studied him intensely
along with the more famous shredders like Albert Lee.

Been in a country rock band since 07.Doing fill in for another one,besides my 80s rock metal band.This has been by far the hardest ,most difficult time to find kick butt country tunes to learn for the venues..our audience wants aldean,paisley,urban,Aldean, Brantley gilbert,randy houser,Luke combs,and some Waylon and cash thrown in...
Not the current bubblegum pop,bebop,rap,punk country thats on the radio. I dnt even know how they classify it as country,as I'm trying my darndest to hear anything that remotely resembles country in it...oth..ive personally seen paisley and Mason up close and personal and they're the real deal.Phenomenal!

Love good guitar playing of any genre. Country picking is just insane to me, can’t do it. Love listening to guys like Andy Wood, guy is a beast, has a great YouTube channel and nice as could be to boot. If you have not checked out his album Junktown, I’d really recommend giving it a listen.

one of my absolute FAVORITE players right now. can do it all. country shred, bluegrass, fusion, metal... He's an amazing mandolin player, played mando first, which I believe is the key to his incredible picking hand.

Not so fast there Donnie, I can “pick a fight” as you call it all I want, especially considering that sounds like a cop out for a lack of a real response… go back and look at your comments, and just generally how most people slam you on here for your political ideology and how you look at things, and then reevaluate your comments and maybe look at why people respond to your comments the way they do…

I have no need to contribute to this thread, considering I played professionally in Nashville for a living for several years, and had an actual signed touring gig with a major label artist, I’m quite in tune with the country scene, but thanks for playing: everyone else in this thread has got the good stuff covered.

I'm not a fan of country, but modern country has made me appreciate classic country a lot more.

I'm a metalhead but a huge fan of Dwight Yoakam. Just like his style and twang. You want to hear sone good stuff though, go listen to 70's trucker songs. Those are the best:

- East Bound and Down
- The White Knight
