Not sure if it's been posted. Great comparison video!

I'm really digging the H75.

i think they both sound good, and would totally work in most situations, cool video

What an awesome comparo!! Nice post!!

I love the look on the guy's face when he first digs into the Black Beauty Lester

I personally liked the 65, seemed to have a lil' more sizzle... But either one sounds awesome. I'd imagine it's pretty amp specific too; open back/closed back; how hard they're pushed, etc. But the 65 definitely sounded hot and charged up.

Awesome morning coffee stuff

I love all the clips I've heard of both speakers. I've always been a fan of mixing H30s with Greenies or V30s, so I'm sure I would love this mix too. Creambacks might be my next speaker purchase.

Both were cool. I can see why they are mixed in that 2X12 because they mix well.

What amp is that? The bottom end sounds really squishy on the gainy sounds. I kind of like it.

Great comparison! Really distinct differences there. I like them both, but lean towards the H.

They both sound good but I like the clarity and bight of the h75.

I'm still hearing the cocked mids tone in the G12-65 creambacks that were in my original G12-65 loaded marshall 4x12 from 1983. For-warning to anyone with an amplifier voiced with mids - mixing G12-65's with it is generally a bad idea. Mesa's, 5150's, SLO's, etc. Anything with mids enough already. Great for marshall inspired circuits but not SLO style circuits. Just letting anyone know up front buying blind.

I tried like hell to love that cabinet both in a band mix and also at lower volumes but even a stock loaded 5150 cabinet sat better in a mix and sounded better. Just an FYI. YMMV, IMHO, and all that stuff.

i have the G12M 65s and they are definitely picky about heads, sounded good with the 5153 and not great with the Splawn

Thanks ! Those amps and cabs are my creation. I was partnered with Fastback, but now I'm putting my name on my work,at Kracke Amplification.

Same exact gear that I design and build myself, start to finish, lower prices, no more "helpful" partner. ;)
The amp used was the 22 S/C model, featuring a pair of NOS 6V6 power tubes.
The upcoming vids we'll be doing with Fluff again will sound much better and feature other amp models and a wider variety of tones.
Those were both new outta the box speakers in the vid. Really dig both models, they mix together well, and they also sound great in 4x12 cabs !

Hey man, thanks for taking the time - definitely one of the nicer/better comparos I've seen/heard. Makes me want Creambacks.

Peace,
Mo

I have a closed back 2x12" cab loaded with the G12M-65s, and they sound HUGE with my 20th Shiva. HUGE.

20th Sheevs... :inlove:

She'll be mine, oh yes. Just a matter of time...

Ya, the more I listen to this clip, the more I think mixing a cab with 2 of each would be the cats ass. How do they handle variety? I mean, I can hear the core blues being fine, the "brown sound" (shoot me in the face) is obvious should one wish to take it there, there's some chop and bash going on with the chugga chugga, but overall, seems to me the cleans are sweet, the crunch is ace, how far do these go in the other direction of higher gain territory??

I have this Fryette D412 I keep oscillating between wanting to rid it of the P50Es, and then all of a sudden it sounds blissfully awesome and I'm left

Very schizophrenic speakers. But hey, also have a Bogner 20thA XTC 412 loaded with V30s that could do for an upgrade. So.....

The Creamback M and H X patterened in a 4x12 are killer.
I really didn't expect much from the Creambacks, cuz the Heritage line doesn't do much for me,and I figured what's the chance that Celestion has done something right......??
Happily they have come up with some winners.

That's how my Eminence speakers are; one day amazing and the next they sound dull and not "alive" like celestions.

As far as heavy tones with the H magnet speakers, this Fortin clip is one of my favorite heavy tones: http://tonefinder.com/?section=id&value=10119. Fortin NATAS through a Diezel V412R with H30s.
That's a really good representation of how H style speakers handle high gain from my experience. Very tight and bright, but not harsh or shrill. They mix super well with CL80s or V30s but sound killer on their own.

I'd imagine the H75s would sound every bit as good but maybe more chunky in the low end. Mixing in the Greenbacks (65s) would probably sweeten it up a little but I'm sure with the right amp it would still be great for modern heaviness.

is there a speaker combo that will make an amp or tone sound warmer? or will enhance someone's already warm tone?

Yes, yes there are...

I bought a pair of the G12H-75 from Avatar last week. The a/b comparison was definitely nice in helping me decide. Hope to get them in my cab this Friday. Going to pair them up w/ some V30's and give it go.

Getting a Bogner 212C loaded with one of each.

Pumped.

The WIN will be strong in that cab, Mo. Congrats.

P.S. I want a FULL tone report, as I currently have two M's loaded in an oversized 2x12" cab and I want to know your thoughts on how the M and H mix (tonally and volume/balance wise).
