UPDATE:

Well, I used it at practice last night and I tried it both in the loop and in front

In the loop it was a perfect 'clean' solo boost for soloing. Then I plugged into the front of the amp amd "BAMMM!" Holy crap!! It made my Quickrod sing like never before. It did alter the tone but didnt take away the character of the amp's voicing...but just made it BETTER :) Hard to discribe, it just gave it 'more'...in a good way! I left it on pretty much the whole time only turning it off for cleaner stuff. Im VERY impressed. Probably one of my best gear purchases  It took a dry and tight amp and gave it a more squishy more forgiving feel without losing its tight focus and attack...and its QUIET too! :)

One other thing for guys that have this pedal. That damn LED is like a freakin' LASER BEAM!!

Holy crap is that sucker bright!!

Thanks SteveK! This will not leave my board
Glad you dig

I can't believe it "colors your tone". I've seen this pedal on almost 15 different boards and rigs, and it's always been described as 100% transparent. Maybe it's pushing your preamp into a tone you've not had before?

Regardless, ain't gonna get all weird on ya, I'm just surprised. But the good news is - stoked you're getting from it what you were hoping for

Not really coloring my tone so to speak, just taking original tone and making it better. Bigger, fuller, more sustain and squish. Love it!

I have one coming and really don't know what to expect

First off, glad the gamble worked out and you got a pedal that you dig

That said, what possessed you to buy it if you had no idea what to expect? Not being a dick, just curious.

I was looking for something to boost solos when using my 5150. My QR already has a nice solo boost feature

After reading up on it a bit And hearing it was the 'best' I'd figure I'd give it a shot if one came available. Now I can use it with my QR up front where I like it best or swap a couple cables and use it in the loop of my 5150

I'd get one if I could ever find a 48v.
I had the 48v but ended up selling all my pedals. I think I got it from Dan (mailman) and offered it back to him for what I paid, then to another member he suggested, not sure who got it or where I sold it from, evil bay or here.

Great pedal but yeah the light is like having your own spot light

Yeah that was my old 48V....it was insane! Sounded excellent on stock amps...
but when I ran it in Modded amps....it was "too much"..... ;)
I should of bought it back from you Bro....they are hard to come by.
Talk about taking your rig and Injecting it with Human Growth Hormone!

Where was that thread on the main forum about all of us cats being argumentative??

Ah, hell man, as for the 423Pro, glad you're LOVING it. Indeed, it takes awesome and turns it up to 11. Best pedal I've owned - and just wait, give 'er another 10 years and they'll be like the original Klon :D

Can someone describe the differences between the MK and the Lehl Sunday Driver? I have been trying to decide which to use in front of my amp. I just want a clean boost with zero bass loss and no added treble.
No. I can't describe the differences.

Just get the Mk.4:23 in the Pro if you can.

Do I run it in the loop or in the front?

I Run mine in the Loop
with Fantastic results, it's
more Prominent there.
Try them both, see which one
suits you best.
M'MAN!!

Brutha MO, because of your advice years ago
I bought the Mk.4.23 and it will be a pedal that
will remain on my board, Forever!!!
Every Guitarist that has a Solo break in the
song, will Worship this pedal.
It's one of my "Secret Weapons"

Me too and I don't even have anymore pedals

If you are going to go on the search for one of these, all I can stress is that it has to be the 48V model. Not sure why, not sure what it is, the regular Mk.4:23 is solid - a beautiful stomp - and is apparently designed JUST like the 48V Pro model but with less boost - more within usable limits or what not. Even looks identical. Whatever. But there's something to the Pro model that is just business.

I mean, I'd never use this pedal's power past 50% of its capabilities, but what it does for that first 50% is just exquisite, and does sound better than the 100% range of the standard 4:23 pedal. I just can't explain why (quality and selection of circuit components, unaccounted artifacts, headroom ability, cleaner power, etc).

yeah, I've never been able to find one. Not sure why they quit making it

Dammit, you guys.. Just ended up with the standard and absolutely dig the crap out of it. Now the search continues for the Pro, just to see what it's all about.

Used it in the loop to hit the poweramp harder. Worked wonders.

How's the noise? Looking for as close to a noise free boost as possible.
