Just have to say again, I LOVE how this rig is put together. It looks so clean and streamlined.

Can you please explain how you connect/use the iso transformer? Been wondering exactly how those work. Thanks!

Got some new shots of the updated effects rig and control/switching system FINALLY set up:

Top-to-bottom we got:

Furman M-8L
Furman M-8D
KORG DTR-1000 Rack Tuner
BBE MaxCom Stereo Compressor/BBE
Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8
--> Loop 1 = BBE Max Com
--> Loop 2 = TC1128
--> Loop 3 = Tube Screamer
--> Loop 4 = BOSS SD-1
--> Loop 5 = BOSS Drive Zone (BD-1 Model)
--> Loop 6 = MEQ-14
--> Loop 7 = BBE 462
--> Loop 8 = Rocktron Xpression
Digital Music GCX Audio Switcher
--> Loop 4 = Momentary Switch for Marshall Vintage Modern Dynamic Range
--> Loop 5 = Latching Switch for Splawn Quick Rod Solo
--> Loop 6 = Latching Switch for Splawn Quick Rod OD1/OD2
--> Loop 7 = Latching Switch for Splawn Quick Rod Clean/OD Channel
--> Loop 8 = Latching Switch for Splawn Quick Rod Gear 2/Gear 3 switching
TC1128 EQ/Spectrum Analyzer
Digitech MEQ-14 Stereo MIDI EQ
BBE 462
Rocktron Xpression
Rocktron Pro Hush/Filter
DOD SR/RTA Real-Time Analyzer
---------------------------------------------
On bottom of rack:
Ibanez Tube Screamer
BOSS SD-1
BOSS Drive Zone
---------------------------------------------
Rocktron All Access (10 preset, 5 instant access switches) -- May change this to 5 preset, 10 instant access depending on needs.

Two noteworthy things: 1. A spectrum analyzer is EXTREMELY useful when trying to dial in your sound. 2. I scoffed at the All Access controller for a long time thinking it's not so cool as to be worth that much money. It kind of is. Luckily, I got mine used on the cheep, but it's a bad-ass controller if you need something to do MIDI control AND switching, and can't afford to have Bob Bradshaw put something together for you.

Play it cuz you love it!!

Thanks. It's just a simple in > out little unit you place wherever it kills the hum basically. I use the Palmer line ISO another popular one is the Ebtech hum eliminator. I placed mine between the rack output and the amp input. It's probably good to have it after a buffer somewhere to make sure the transformer doesn't suck any tone.

Here's my MTS setup...

First, the rack of doom!
IMG_0327.jpg

Next the stack...Ampeg 412 with Celestion V30s on top...Randall R412NXT with Celestion Neodymiums on the bottom...Those are also Sennheiser E906 mics with cab grabbers on the bottom 412 for recording...That way I don't have to move the mics once I'm rolling.... :) Those combined with the mic eliminator function are awesome!

wow! Do you haul all that to gigs?

To gigs? Usually not (unless it's a showcase or something)...Too worried about it getting dinged or swiped...It's pretty much a recording rig only...

So I decided to move some stuff around. Except for the Diezel rig off to the right, here's what brings the noise...

The All Access controls all of the rack gear, the GCX and Patchmate, and all of the MIDI-capable heads (VH4, Switchblade, JVM410H, Trilogy, TriAmp MK II). The GCX has the top 5 switches set up for instant access:

#11 = Momentary for Vintage Modern Dynamic Range
#12 = Latching for Splawn Solo
#13 = Latching for Splawn OD1/OD2
#14 = Latching for Splawn Clean/Overdrive
#15 = Latching for Splawn Gear Selection

Amp activation is controlled by a VooDoo Labs Amp Selector and two A/B/Y boxes. The Trilogy and TriAmp are ganged, and the Vintage Modern and the JVM410H are ganged--the Splawn and Diezel can be turned on/off individually and the Switchblade is always on via the tuner out as the Switchblade remembers knob positions so if you want it off for a patch, you just create a patch on the "Clean" channel with zero volume. Kinda cool.

When I get the room and cabs all mic'd up I'll start recording clips with different combinations and variations.

Oh, the lonely covered Marshalls in the corner are a 1974X on top, DSL401 underneath, and a vintage 4 x 10 on the bottom (that I paid an @$$-load for but it sounds like the dog's knob. If only it weren't 8 ohm... :(

Over to the left:

The Marshall HAZE 40 (currently for sale) and the Mesa Boogie Mark V combo.

I had to take that big-@$$ Furman EQ out of the rack to get the second spectrum analyzer in--will have to go in the satellite rack...

Anyhow, enjoy, and let me know what you think. I'm always trying to improve and always willing to learn from those more experienced than I.

Cheers,
