I can't take this anymore, I'm getting out my '85 BF-2 when I get home from work...

"The BF-2's design remained virtually unchanged through its more than 20 year lifespan. The TL022CP opamp was replaced with the Sharp IR9022 opamp at some point but apart from that, the ciruit remained unchanged"

Off course the Japanese model has the special MOJO sprinkled on it that the Tawain one doesn't have.

Don't forget that the type of battery makes a difference too :scared:

That actually does in distortion / OD pedals. I thought it was bs until I sat down with my SD-1 and a bunch of different 9 volts.

Wouldn`t that be more due to the actual voltage in the battery? (9.3, 8.4, 7.6..etcetc)
i.e, the vaious manufacturer's tolerance to differing output of their products?

(I don`t know, but I`m asking. I can`t hear the difference meself :D)

Dammit, my old ass Yamaha flanger from yesteryear is gonna have to do the trick.

I'm gonna grab one just to screw around with using my Egnater Seminar head to see what I get...

Nope. These were all new batteries I tried. It was pretty obvious when I tried. Pretty interesting.

Not necessarily and I'll explain lol :D The nasalness Im talking about is how the midrange "Q" narrows. The BF-2 works in a way that the Q narrows as the mid or even the highs get turned up...the effect gets more pronounced.. not just the mids. It's easier for me to explain If you have a parametric EQ.

Hey Ralph I tried it

I made a super short clip, recording is not nearly as good as what's been posted but wanted to see if I got in the ballpark!

Alder bodied Fender Tele with full size bridge JB humbucker into:

Boss BF-2 set the way you described above
Boss SD-1
2203x
H30 speaker in Splawn 4x12 with SM57

Double tracked and panned

Dude,
Van Halen clips are so every week since the internet was invented. Ralph and I decided to give the Norwegian a moment in the sun here. This week is Ronni Le Tekro week only and you can take your Van Halen settings BF-2 pedal and re-post that pic next Monday when we return to our perpetually scheduled program. :gethim:

LMAO!!!!!!!

PS. Ralph and I found a warehouse full of NOS Boss BF-2's, made in Japan. We've been trying to sell them on ebay for months with no buyers. We figured if we made something like this up and said the BF-2 was essential our sales would skyrocket. Wait til you see the pic of Eddie Van Halen in the studio recording Van Halen 1 that I Photoshopped a BF-2 under his Capezio's. Sale next week are going to be smoking. NOS BF-2's only $199
