And to the question about whether a BF-3 will do it...... I don't know. A new BF-3 is $110 and a used BF-2 is between $30 and $60 on ebay. Why chance it with the BF-3?
I agree. They aren't rare like other pedals and they are pretty easy to get. I got mine off of E-Bay for like $40

well, the BF 3 is new, its in better shape, it has a setting to add extra flange effect, and I can get it relatively cheap. I think it does the trick but i'm not completely sure, so if anyone has a bf 3 laying around it would be cool to have them confirm that it does the Tekrø tone. I did definitely hear it modulate the right way, but it didn't make the sound that much thicker and larger, but then again i didn't get to try a BF 2 on the same rig, so who knows, maybe the amp and distortion was the problem.

I tried to do the flanger trick on my crappy zoom g2 1u, but you can only add flanger after the amp/drive, and you can't set rate, and depth to zero , so the flanger always makes swoosh sounds, but it definitely made the sound thicker and more midrangy even if it was after the amp, which is interesting!

should I put the flanger before or after my metal zone pedal?

This HAS to be the only forum that is dead serious in chasing Ronnie's tone other than his own sites

I agree... and since I have a Space echo and the BF2, I can also add a credible opinion.

Yes, but do you have an unmolested Marshall and a Boss OD-1?

I have the BF3. I'm not sure it does the trick. Maybe I don't know how to dial it in for this sound.

If it looks like this... The manual knob goes all the way up on ten and the rest stay off.

Should make your amp sound like this.

Or like this when you don't lower the mids on the amp. :D

Again I have the BF3 not the BF2.

Right...so what I said is that if the controls are similar to the Bf-2 you would keep manual all the way on the rest off

I bought the bf 3, but its digital and a bit different than the bf 2 in the sound, so i returned it to the shop and bought myself a Blackstar ht 5 with a Blackstar cab, now i'm just gonna go to ebay and buy the real tekro BF 2 pedal!

I do belive however that you can get tekro'ish sounds using different flangers, but not all of them have the possibility to turn rate and depth completely of, so going with the original bf 2 like i've been told from the start, will be the easiest and cheapest way! I wonder how to bf 1 sounds if there is one...

Has anybody tried this trick with the new Boss BF-2 Flangers? Is it the same, or do you need the MIJ version?
