This clip is nothing special. Actually, it's the first one I've ever made. It's just a rhythm clip of the OD100 Classic Plus at lower volumes. I'm new to miking amps, but I think I did well for my first shot. It's a little fuzzy, but the amp sounds fuzzier at lower volumes.

Mic: Audio-Technica ATM650
Firewire Interface: Metric Halo ULN-2 w/ 2D Card w/ Transformer Input Character (no other EQing)
Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Classic w/ Anderson H3+ in the bridge
Cabinet: Mesa Recto 4x12 w/ V30's
Volume: 1 (10 being wide open)
Gain: 7
Bass: 4
Mids: 10
Treble: 8

The clip is at https://www.myspace.com/dale661 . You will see it labeled as CAA OD100 Dirty. I still have a good bit of learning to do, so be easy. Also, I was just screwing around trying to get the levels right.

Dale,

For a first time you did great IMO.

How did you process the sound? I think you are recording too hot.

Hey,

I probably did record it too hot. I was at 36db on the mic preamp. I just think my levels were up a little too high because the MIO Console doesn't sound all that loud in the Recording strip upon playback. After I get the .sp file into iTunes and convert it to an mp3 and double track it in Garageband, the volume picks up a fairly good bit. I'm going to tame it down a bit tomorrow and see what happens.

The only thing I added was Transformer character in the MIO channel strip. There wasn't anything else. The Transformer character kind of smoothed out the EQ a little bit. I'm going to mess around with some other Character plugins. I didn't have much time because people started calling me this afternoon for some odd reason. LOL!

I still don't have Logic (will be here tomorrow) and I'm waiting on my +DSP license from Metric Halo (they're dragging ass). There will definitely be more to come. :)
