They are freakin' awesome! I've had many custom builds from Lee at GMW. That is an old one that still has the strat headstock. Good price too...

Here is one I still own:

Yeah, GMW makes a great guitar, and that's an awesome price. I've considered grabbing it and doing a Dave Murray to it..

You can not go wrong with a GMW. Lee Garver makes great guitars! My GMW super strat plays and sounds as good as any of the best guitars I've owned over the years, including CS Charvels/Fenders.

wow, that one is sweet!!

yeah, I've had several GMW's and they are great guitars. Here's one of my older ones, the neck on this one is killer! Not too fond of the current pickup setup although so that's gonna get changed soon.

I've oned both a snakeskin replica and had Lee make me a Polka Dot RR V. Both were killer guitars and made very well.
Wish I never sold those and still regret it very much. I think its a good deal on a sweet looking guitar.

I've played/owned a lot of them. GMW builds are top notch. The stratheads even more so--a quality similar to Charvel custom shops. Here are 3 of mine:

My only 'gripe' if it's really that about GMW is that Lee went a little too 'out there' with his headstock designs, and they don't photograph well IMO. I've read many, many negative comments about them, and my bet is that if he'd gone more conservative, he'd be selling more. Though of course, Charvel doing stratheads now would have eaten into his market in a big way whatever.

Man that Taxi cab one is awesome!!
Agreed about the new headstock though. :aww:

Thanks!
In person the Millennium headstock actually looks OK, but I do feel it could have been scaled back a bit - it doesn't need to extend so far beyond the tuner, or flare out so much IMO.

I hear ya. It's funny because it's not really that far off from an Ibanez headstock though...that said, I'd like it more it it was just flat instead of contoured.

I visited his shop once because he makes really good Randy Rhoads polka dot V's... Nice guy, I've been thinking of having him make me one of those Randy V's
