Did you look at the Pultec EQ he has coming out in a week or so? The pedal it's cloning seems to be well liked by bass players.Yes, more bass stuff.

My amp has a GEQ that’s always on.Did you look at the Pultec EQ he has coming out in a week or so? The pedal it's cloning seems to be well liked by bass players.
Dang, I'm loving that whole rig!!! That bass has all the necessary ingredients with white finish+gold hardware. Does the cab sound better without tolex? My amp has a GEQ that’s always on. View attachment 405348
I'll put it to you this way. That cab is a '96 "Dark era" cab. Which means the Eminence drivers in it are a little darker sounding and therefore it's a little less desirable. The cab is also particle board. I bought it off a punk rock bass player for $400. When I started getting rid of stuff I got down to 2 Ampeg 810cl cabs, this one and a 2015 American made Heritage cab that sold at the time for around $1400. I only needed one and I kept the one that sounded best. So I don't know if it's the tolex, or lack of, it probably is that I like the speakers better, but it sounds fucking killer. Especially with that amp and that bass.Dang, I'm loving that whole rig!!! That bass has all the necessary ingredients with white finish+gold hardware. Does the cab sound better without tolex?
He has his normal 'Super Drive' that doesn't have all of the options, just a nicer, true bypass SD-1.I think when I had mine modded by RE-J they did true bypass on it, but I don't remember. it's been like 15 years since I got it. That's too many knobs and clipping stages for me to operate. I like things simple, plug and play. However, that is a nice looking pedal.
That scarab you were cloning sounded killer. One of the better fuzzes I've heard since I had a big box Fulltone '70. Except the scarab was a little more raw to my ears in the top end, but they are similar in that they both clean up nice with the guitar volume and can be used as a main drive for blues and rock.I can't sell a Fuzz in here to save my life
I might still do a few scarabs ... and the KMA Fuzzly BearThat scarab you were cloning sounded killer. One of the better fuzzes I've heard since I had a big box Fulltone '70. I have thought about doing one .... a few times .... I just figured there would be no interest at all in itHave you ever looked into doing a Crowther Hotcake?
That's funnyHe said it meant " the perfect poop " when you poop and it comes out so clean you don't need to wipe ...... lmao
Yeah. The two pedals I have of his that have a guitar/bass switch do that wonderfully. The Chiron Deluxe is massive as a bass boost, and the CE-MOD is my favorite bass chorus to date.Yes, more bass stuff.
The trick with bass fuzz / Distortion, in a band situation anyway, is it is god damn helpful if you can limit the effect to the high frequencies and leave your bottom end intact. That's why I used to mic my cab and run a DI.
I could build you guys a Super Doopah Bass Screamer ....... which would be like the Super doopah SD-1 I just did for guitar ...Yeah. I think @griff10672 should just start modding that switch onto everything. . A Rat or a Tubescreamer with a bass switch to let the low end oomph through would rule.
