I know that I touched on this subject a few weeks ago,but I am going to drop coin on one or the other this fall. Both are very fine guitars, just wanted to see what you guys think. I have lots of time to decide as you can see. I just played a suhr this week at p-n-s in pittsburgh very sweet but I am also a jackson fan it's a tuff one I am :bash:   myself crazy..

Suhr without a doubt....I own this modern and wouldnt trade it for any jackson in the world.

I love Jacksons, but honestly, Suhr Modern in a heart beat. Jackson's prices have jumped up and they're just not worth the price tag

Suhr over a Jackson without a doubt. I have a Modern on order myself, but if you are going custom shop check out McNaughts. I have a G5 which is a flat top soloist shape, but the G6 is the carved top soloist shape. Any wood, pickup, neck shape, trem, it's totally custom. My G5 is the finest instrument I've played, this finish is unreal.

How is PNS's Suhr inventory these days? What are they carrying now?

And don't they seem to fuck up a lot of orders? I remember that one guy on here sold his because they gave him a totally wrong paintjob. What a waste of 6-12 months and probably $5000. :aww:

check out matts music for Suhrs, he usually has a few in. Thats where I got mine. If he still has that sweet Bengal top one...you should get it...and trade me for my black modern.. :gethim:

I LOVE Jackson Soloists, but i would pick a Suhr over a Jackson anyday of the week now... The prices on Jackson USA stuff is too high, let alone the Custom Shop stuff. I mean $5000 for a Soloist with a custom paintjob and spec?!? WTF.

Suhr's stuff is hard to beat even if some of it is pricey... They look extremely cool, the quality is incredible and the available options just make it that much better than the Jackson stuff IMO.

Play both and see what you prefer. Dont buy something because of internet hype.

Try 'em both.
Personally, i have never liked anything by Suhr.
There is a local store that my buddy works at that stock about 25 of them and not one of them has impressed me.

I did play a suhr at pns and liked it,pns has 12 to 15 suhrs hanging down there. Jason and I set down a spected out a jackson soloist seven string with a floyd rose reverse headstock,1 pickup black with green crackle finish around the whole guitar also with crosses on the fretboard and name on the truss cover and I also choose brazillion rosewood for the fretboard just some of the goodies I choose. I just want to see how much it will cost. I may have a heart attact when the quote comes back..

I think Jacksons sound consistently better than Suhrs but, Suhrs look consistently nicer than Jacksons. Get a used Jackson for $1,500 or so and use the other $1,000 for effects or amplification needs. I have both and I don't think one is more superior than the other. They are different.

25? That sounds a LOT more than most any place I've head of to have in stock at one time. Did you play any of the Moderns? That's one Suhr I'd like to try. Suhr builds a perfect playing guitar free of any defects, getting one that sounds great isn't always a "Suhr" thing though. :D

But, I'm think that for my tone tastes, I'd love one with a Mahoganey or basswood body, maple top, and the Aldrich pickups. That'd probably rock.
