Cool in the 1980s pre internet when they mailed out the monthly used gear book, turned into a legit junk shop in the last 15 years. They tried to compete with Sam Ash and Guitar Center and got beat down.

We didn't have DJM in Canada to my knowledge, but from what I remember reading in old mags from the 80s and early 90s, they were a pretty cool place to score some hidden gems.

I bought this Charvel from Daddys 10 years ago, i put the EMG in it, pretty good guitar.

Brad said it best, i've browsed their inventory the last 5 years they wanted top dollar for C & D grade gear, not surprised they're tits-up.

damn. I bought my Mesa Mark IV there, my Jackson RR1, and countless other primo gear from Daddy's. huge bummer. I try to support these places and stay away from the mega Guitar Center/Musicians Friend/(add any of the other places they own)

I will miss this store. They always treated me well, did what they said they were going to do, and were friendly. I am bummed out.

I bought an acoustic in the one they had across from Berklee in Boston. Mass Ave was it? Anyway, cool store. Sad to hear the chain closing.

Will never forget walking into DJM opposite Berklee...it was my first day in Boston, my first day in the US, my first time in a real guitar store.........and i plugged into a 5150 head!!!!!!
