You'd have to build a series adapter, but from an electrical theory point of reference, the idea is sound.

Oh, dude...I totally read the first post wrong.
I was thinking that you were trying to take 2 9v adapters and combine them to create 18v...which is, in fact, possible, but takes some work.
Daisy-chaining off on 18v adapter is easy - it's just the same as you would with a 9v adapter.
The only thing that you've got to make sure of is that your adapter can handle the current draw of all of the things that it will be powering. If you have a 1a power supply, it can drive 5 pedals that each draw 200ma. Likewise, running 5 pedals that draw 200ma each will blow a 200ma power supply.
Just check the power needs of your pedals and the current capability of the power supply and make sure that it can handle it.
