As for vintage guitars holding value, try telling that to the guys who payed top dollar for a P90 Goldtop or TV Jr at the peak of the market a few years back. About the only "guarantees" when it comes to vintage Gibsons are '57-'60 LP Standards and original Explorers and Vs.
I think you could find a pretty nice vintage LP custom for 9k that will hold it's value better than a historic for example is all I meant. Obviously not an all original 57-60 standard
