Son of a bitch! I just smoked two power tubes on my TriAmp. I guess it's time to buy a new quad.

What makes a tube fog up? I assume that outside air leaked in some how. But that's just a guess on my part. Time to start looking at 6L6s.

6L6GC's are what i use. love them

So what makes a tube loose vaccum? I just put these tubes in today and set the bias. I made sure that everying was good to go. It sounded really good for the two hours that I actually got to play...lol!

thin glass and heat causes warping on the tube wall - air is made up of small molecules, it only takes a minute hole you cannot see to lose vaccum.

the new tube would explain why. you got duds.

i recommend thetubestore.com for all power tubes, and dougstubes for all preamp tubes - doug does burn-in's on pre's to weed out of the microphonic ones.
