Dan,

I have been searching for you on various boards for a few days to no avail.. I just bought your old amp.... Cameron Modded MIG 100 with the Ocean Mod... Feeling kinda anxious in anticipation. How does that Biatch sound? Say compared to HG or LG Jose Marshall etc? Mark once told me that the MIGs were a great platform for his mods. Opinions wanted and appreciated. Any others with experience are surely welcome. Hope to hear from you..

Thanks

JW

Daver here on the boards owned it for quite some time. I thought it sounded great. Not as much gain as a Jose, and a little smoother sounding. Still plenty of gain to go around though IMHO. Never got around to trying that amp with 34's which I think would sound great in that amp. I think you will dig it.

Thanks Dan,

I am glad to hear it has a bit less gain the HG Jose. I like the Low gain Jose with an 808 if needed even better than than the HG. Somewhere in the middle with no pedal would be ideal.

Did you find the MIG to retain the basic character of a Marshall? I undestand the MIG is basically a JCM800 clone with arguably better build quality. How did you find the Cam Mig compared tonewise to the othe Cam Marshalls you have played. Daver 101 bring on the opinions...

THX a ton

I think it held its own with my Marshalls. Just smoother, and a touch more polite sounding than my Cameron Marshalls.

Thanks Dan.

It sounds I might really like it. I love the aggressive bite of a Marshall, but also like the smoothness of say a Bogner XTC. Have you played an SLO? That is kinda where I find the SLO to sit. Snarly like a good modded Marshall yet smooth like a Bogner XTC.
