The tongue in cheek point I was trying to make was sadly masters like Gatton and Buchanan are overlooked and gone before they are realized for the masters that they are (well were) while inferior talents gain pop culture status... sorta which you proved!

If we were able to trade musicians, I'd gladly trade Mick Mars, Keith Richards, C C Deville, Yanni, & Lil Wayne for Roy or Danny; you keep the spectacular and drop the spectacularly mediocre.

I saw Danny on my 25th birthday in Philly...an absolutely jaw dropping performance. Aside from being a phenomenal player, he was also a master story teller and comedian...one of the best live music experiences that I've ever had.

Regarding Mick, he helped usher in a generation of playing -- even if it was a music style I was never much into. And I can't remember ever reading anything about him going off the deep end like many others. He's got my respect. I don't think the poster was being serious, though.
