So just as an example, I re-recorded all the rhythm guitars with a marshally tone, and listen to how much easier it is to hear what's going on

Even as a huge recto fan this sounds SO much better/more effective to me for this context, like not even close than with the recto's. I feel like the recto's sound actually got in the way and interfered with the flow of the music somehow, almost like it had an effect of slowing down the song if that makes sense vs this Marshall just working more effortlessly the way it fits. Just shows how it's all about the right tool for the job. In other scenarios/styles it could be the exact opposite. How do you like also the Attack Stealth picks btw?

Yeah and I didn't even spend a ton of time getting the performance correct, those marshall tracks are all "live" as in no punch-ins and theres a few fuckups here and there. I just wanted to impress upon people how different amps change the way you play as well as the sound :dunno:

The attack stealth picks are pretty solid, i'm a creature of habit though and generally stick to black jazz iii XL nylons, generally

Yeah definitely a big difference no doubt

I learned about the attak stealth's also from smash. I like them overall, just wish for my hands they were a little smaller and more rigid. Maybe I'll revisit those black jazz iii XL's. I did like them too in the past

I think the black jazz III XLs just sit at a nice middle ground between the right shape, the right grip, and a tiny little bit of flex for digging in

I'll have to try again. I seem to like very little flex

Listening back and forth again there is a nice evil vibe from the recto's thickness and low mids, but still like the Marshall. Maybe some middle ground type amp could also be worth trying

Insane! It is like you took a blanket off the tone. Man. I didnt notice anything wrong with original til i heard that

Agreed. Good stuff Dan. I like those Jazz IIIs too. Every now and then I try something different and all those somethings just don't fit right :dunno:

I am a pick whore. I cannot settle on one. I use different picks for different songs

Agreed. Recto’s imo really shine in other, very different contexts than something like this
