As a consumer I am very interested to know what is going on.

I have read/heard rumors that Bob Bradshaw STOLE 30K from his customers and nobody can reach him?
Cameron 10K, DAR is not to be trusted? Can someone give me an unbiased low down?

Unbiased? You're not going to get that here on the interwebz.

Also, nobody here has all of the "facts" around any of these three situations.

As such, I recommend we simply let sleeping dogs lie.

Official sticky? You running this place now?

As a consumer, I would simply suggest that you stay away from these cats rather than worry about what's going on...you'll be happier for it. Unless by "consumer" you meant of tabloid-style hijinks...then by all means follow along and watch the drama.

Hey man - can't speak for the other two but I've had 2-3 conversations w/ CAE over the past couple weeks about a redo of the rack I've got. I've also got about 2-3 buddies who are talking to him about interfaces and midi controllers. Maybe there was something a bit ago, but all seems copasetic now.

Camerons are being built by ToneMerchants I thought now so they should be all set, and DAR...never paid attention to them...

im a dar customer and will keep the forum updated if anything real happens

I have no interest in Drama.
Fact or Fiction, Did these companies rip people off?
I would like to know if its just a customer service misunderstanding or something more.
It's hard to tell on this forum if your getting unbiased information since this site is run by someone that has a financial interest to keep things quiet. A bad image spreads quick and can ruin a BRAND.I am on the side of the musician that doesn't know any better and would like not to get ripped off.

For those like me in the former camp I really thing there should be a Warning Sticky on the forum to help others from loosing money. Like many of us I skim through various threads but I don't have all day for hearsay. I would like a detailed statement on these accusations/rumors.

Luke

PS I have nothing against brad but facts are facts.

Are you serious?

1) use the search function. A million different takes, stories, half truths, and tall tales. You then choose as a "Consumer/adult/genius/dimwit" what you the want to do with YOUR money. Or do you need somebody to make declarative statements that can be bandied about later?
I'll bite here's my, "concrete vampire/Diego" said It in the interwebz declarative statement.

Brad and his Cameron designed products and Friedmans stuff is solid. Great gear, and companies. I'm a Surreal Amp fan boy, so Jerry Dyer is right there with the big boys as far as I'm concerned. His Amps kick ass, and he's a solid dude.

Gossip? Go fish....

Yeah it's ranty, but Gtfo with the official sticky business as well.. Wtf...

Go ask "Billy Fucking Blades"

I assume your post means to Have Billy, build me an amp? I have heard his work on youtube and it sounds quality.

However that doesn't answer my question.

If I were to buy a CAE Midi product I need to know if he is a trustworthy person and I will get back my investment. Whom will be doing warranty work on the Cameron and DAR amps. If the designer isn't around I would like to know that my follow up customer service will be there.

With boutique builders often charging deposits and big price tags WE need to know which ones to AVOID.

Simple.

WTH... sure seems like a lot of trolling going on lately...

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

Nice copy and paste from a web dictionary.

Seems as though there are a few threads as of late that cast a wide enough net so as to imply that Brad may be involved in or liable for the injustice perpetrated on those who's money was taken and who never received their product. That's BULLSHIT pure and simple. :gethim:

This thread seems familiar

Notice the quotation marks? Meaning I never implied it was my own words. Truth be told I had to look it up since I wasn't sure if you were referring to myself or other posters. I then realized you are engaging in the same activity you condemn. I find that odd.

I concede that I have an opinion on what some would call unethical business practices, customer service, post purchase service, quality products etc. But, I am keeping those thoughts to my self. In what little I have skimmed over the past 72hrs on the forums I would like to get a definitive answer. I am not accusing anyone of anything, I am just asking questions.

If the numbers I posted are close then there is a serious problem. If the number of fraud clams stack up, their could well be a class action lawsuit. Then things will sort themselves.

Honestly, I find this whole thing a real bummer. I am a Rig Builder so any Cool Products I can get my hands on I am down with.
I believe we all want great products we can stand by.

RJM Music is a great example. You can actually get the owner on the phone and help you diagnose your rig during business hours. CAE on the other hand I never received any returned phone calls or emails in a Year! When I heard from James Lugo that it was going through thru the grapevine CAE took off with client's deposits and left, this very much concerned me. Due to the graphic nature of these rumors I fear being persecuted for bringing these topics to light. However, I would rather be disliked than taken for a ride.

PS. After a few hundred view and a dozen posts no one had denied or confirmed these claims. I suppose that's an answer in itself.

What claims? wtf?
You makin no sense Bro.

Ask BRAD about the products he's selling...

Ask FRIEDMAN about his.

Or either JERRY about theirs.

If you are afraid of other Companies ability to satisfy your Gear needs. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

I do not get what your beating around the bush about. Which BTW, is Trolly. Just sayin.

I am simply trying to invite the community to get involved in a BBB,Angie's list kind of way.

Someone should be able to post a concern or comment with their experience on a product without the Fanboy's Trolling the poor person to death.

I started the thread with only the intention of information gathering. I asked to make it sticky since I hoped other would like to know.

I personally don't read threads past 3 pages back. I will search for something in every once in a while I mostly just see whats going on in new topics.

Saw Brad post a thread about not dealing with DAR amplifiers. That was the first I heard of it. The thread contained ambiguous information to say the least. Same thing with the Cameron stuff. Lugo mentioned the CAE thing so I included that.

I am working with a Steampunk band and I really liked the look of the Nikola Tesla Style DAR amp. Since I didn't receive any useful information at the time of reading other peoples threads on here and harmony central or gear page I posted here.
I really love the RS-T series of midi controllers. But even if I find one used what happens when it breaks? What happens when something needs updated? Its important to know whats going on to plan all this stuff. I am currently building a couple of rigs at this time for a few different people. I like to stay informed is all.
