I don't think I've ever seen too much posted here about him. Great singer, great player, and awesome tone. Summertime Girls was a bit cheesy but the other stuff is great.

Was never a big y&t fan .
But they came here last year and I went and saw them .
Blown away !!!!
They tore it up !!!
Great tone , great singing , killer stage presence !!
Real professionals !!
Then they came out in the audience and greeted people .
Class act all the way I would go see them every chance I get now !!!!

Love Meniketti and Y&T . If you grew up in the Bay Area in the early 80s and were a fan you got treated to many cool Y&T gigs. They were known as Yesterday and Today in the mid 70s before my time . RIP Leanord and Phil

I agree, great player and tone.

I also recommend his solo albums.

Great tone and I think he just plugs his LP into a great sounding old Marshall.

Always thought Dave was a great player and a very underrated vocalist .

Always loved his tone and playing, along with his vocals.Great song writer too There are some great shows on YT from the 80's that really show how tight these guys were.

I remember a great thread back in the day over at the Metro sight, where Mark Cameron offered to repair Dave's Marshall for him as Dave was saying it had taken a dump on him and wasn't sounding well. I know Dave sent Mark the amp, but I never heard what the outcome was? Be interesting to know how the amp sounded when he got it back. Saw some more recent stuff where he was using some Diezel stuff. Still sounded like Dave......great!

He has been using a Diezel VH4 for 6+ years now. And it always sounds great live, whether he is playing a strat, his white Kramer, or a les Paul

Lonely side of town, Mean Streak....I grew up with lots of old school Y&T. Great stuff.

Meniketti is awesome! I've seen Y&T many times and even as a kid my older brothers took me to see Yesterday and Today! He plays with a lot of soul and fire, always enjoy watching him play!..Finally had a chance to meet Dave last year after a show, I was trying to talk him into running his delay pedal into the loop of his amp, but he's really 'old school' ALL pedals in front of the amp   He was telling me that during the 'Black Tiger' era there was digital delay added FOH, I remember it sounded killer! Super nice guy by the way..

I shared a rehearsal space in Hayward right next to Dave in the 70s.
We had some great times.

Definietly a really nice guy. Around 2001 I was at Borders Books in Fremont, Ca. and there was a band playing in the cafe , just some quiet light rock orignals and Dave was there sitting in with them , what a trip that was. I briefly spoke to him and told him what a big fan I was and all venues I saw Y&T at and he was really appreciative. His dad used to be the crossing guard at the school my wife teachs at.

Man that`s cool . Remember the Record Factory in Hayward ? I used to beg my mom to take me there all the time

Bumping this thread.

Dave is so underrated. Dude is 63 years old and can still sing and play his ass off.

Just saw them play last Saturday night in Santa Cruz, great show as always. He was still playing the Diezel and also had a Boogie head there as well. Guitar tones where perfect.
His voice is still great as well.

LOVE me some Dave/Y&T. Finally got to see them for the first time a couple years ago here in Vegas. Been listening to them since "In Rock We Trust' came out. I think I was 10 at the time and my brother (who was older) was already into them. We got the album from Columbia House! LOL!

Thanks for the heads up, had no idea they were on tour. Just checked and they will be in Austin this coming April and they're at a kick ass venue. Been a really long time since I've seen Y&T, amped up about catching this show.

Dave rules! Y&T was always the real deal! Great harmony vocals, great song writing, great guitar work.
Personally I thought Dave was the best vocalist on the Hear & Aid project!

Dave's a stud. I've seen them a number of times through the years. Have tickets to see them on March 4th but found out a friend's wedding is that day... ugh!
