DAve, whats your preference in Noise Gate Pedals?

I have a minor hiss that is bugging me and Im torn between the ISP Decimnator and the MXR SmartGate. I saw that you used the MXR on Rob Caggiano's board but Ive heard that it colors your tone.

thoughts? Experiences with either?

Its not alot of hiss at all but its enough for me to know about and obsess over...

as crazy as it sounds, I like the smaller size of the Smartgate but Ive heard alot from people that I know that it tends to suck tone where the Decimator doesnt..

Im friggin confused...
