Yea, definitely out of tune....very noticeable right away.

CAn't say I've ever noticed...but Bowie is a god...as was Mick Rono' his guitar player...

still a great fuckin' song in or out of tune

that is so true. My nine year old son and thirteen year old daughter absolutely rock out when this song is played on our boat. Yeah, it's out of tune, but yeah Mick Ronson kicks ass all over the place. I really like the faintly audible open string pull off's at the very end. This is a thick song that rocks.

I swear if I listen to this song and notice it and it spoils the song from now on..I'm gonna have to choke someone

Don't you know that playing out of tune is cool?

What?

It's not 1994 anymore?

Kurt Cobain isn't cool anymore?

Oh well.

................ and no mention of the vocal???? LOL You'd never hear that today with melodyne in every studio!!

This is a perfect song. From top to bottom.
Absolutely what music is about for me.

Technology has really helped us at home but it's made commercial music incredibly lazy in creativity and execution. You used to need real skill to write/play/record/engineer/mix and Master those classics. You didn't have plugins/loops that did it for you. I swear, FM contemporary rock radio is incredibly painful to listen to for me. Absolutely hate it.

...and often the skill was in knowing when to not give a fuck if something was out of tune if the take had the magic feel. I remember even back in the early/mid 90's recoding in studios. Still having the band play in the room and if the drummer messed up we all started again. God I miss reel to reel tape.

"he took it all too far, but boy could he play guitar" :D

The lyrics to that song are so cool. It's creepy the way david says "spiders". It's funny because my son has a natural fear of spiders and he's been listening to this song for several years. I wonder if it is the root of his fear.

When I was real young, my Uncle gave me Mick Ronson's "Slaughter on 10th avenue". I still have it and listen to it once in a while. He definitely personified the space-age image.

one bad ass mofo!
