my ruger mmr is my most expensive ar-15. my ar-10 is a diamond back and I have to tell you-it's a dandy.....put Burris's on both of them.
I just decked out a Diamondback for an army vet I know. One of the most under rated barrels out there IMO.

I just built a Wilson Combat Ranger for about half of what the base model runs ( $1200 before the optic and WML)

I'm really digging Holosun 510Cs these days. I wish they still made the 512c. I have them on a few shotguns.

mine only has a 16" barrel but damn it's money....
16" is the sweet spot mang. Even my range gun ( 223 Wylde) has a 16" barrel. The scope I have on it is worth more than the rifle. It'll drill your eye out at 400 yards. Probably further, but that's the longest range I got.

Here's the biggest laugher of all , they want your guns because they want to protect innocent lives . It has absolutely Zero to do with giving a shit about peoples lives , democrats love flooding the country with third world migrants and setting up sanctuary cities to protect them . They also love flooding the streets with violent felons by opening the doors to all these prisons .

They want your guns for one reason and one reason only and that's to make sure you can't fight back . They make no secret of it , you think these people are out of control now wait to see how bad they get if they get a hold of your guns .

No doubt about it. (y)

Texas shitbag used a stolen credit card I think. I didn't know the lesbian in Nashville had a DD.

Personally I think they're a bit over rated and definitely overpriced. I mean they're ok, but I have at least one I like better than anything DD has. I will say I like their enhanced LPK.
Agreed
I only own 1 DD that I got at just over cost, but I will say its been absolutely solid with between 8-9K rds through it. Its super light compared to the 2 POF AR's I have, and the rail attachment is very well thought out and bombproof.
I do love those POF's though, they have never missed a beat. I wore out a barrel on one of them, but it was at nearly 14K rds through it!
They are a bitch to rebarrel, everything is proprietary compared to regular mil-spec, it takes tools that don't transfer to anything else..
I went ahead and changed out the piston and op-rod with the barrel, but it was still working beautifully.
I have one of their 308's also that has been the most devastating hog gun Ive ever run. We have problems with hogs here and they have proven to be tough little shits, but that 308 will knock them out of their hoofs. The suppressed setting on the piston pressure selector works perfectly with the suppressor I run on it. I love that thing!

DD is top shelf no doubt. I’d put one together but I’d never buy a built one out of the box. If I’m spending that kind of money I’d likely just spend a bit more and get a Noveske or something. I’m not hog hunting though and my round counts aren’t nearly as high as yours with ARs. I’m going to build a BCM soon I think. For an all around, solid, affordable gun it’s hard to beat Aero.

I have no experience with piston guns. I do have an Adams Arms 5.56 but it’s a DI gun built on an Anderson lower. Their Voodoo barrels are pretty decent.

I have a love/hate thing with piston driven guns, but Patriot Ordinance Factory's design is very simple and super reliable. They stay much cleaner at the receiver vs a gasser, but its more stuff to keep up with for sure and the op-rod hitting the BCG has a bit more pulse to it. They do weigh more. The coolest thing about them is the NP3 coatings make it cycle smooth as glass. I'm skeptical of any coatings but that stuff wears like iron. I literally saw no wear on it till I got past 10K rds through it. I run em wet too so Im sure that helped. Ultralight Mobil 1 oil :D
My best friend and shooting partner has 2 BCM's that have been really solid guns. He had an early one that did have an ammo malfunction and a squib lodged in the barrel right in front of the chamber and the gun literally blew up and cracked the chamber when the next round was fired. He was doing gun/run stuff at the time and it all happened so fast he shot again before he realized there was an issue.
It would have happened no matter what gun was being used, but BCM sent him a brand new gun free of charge. Cant beat that.
Thats great customer service. Zero problems with the 2 he has now, he loves those things.
There's a ton of good stuff out there at the moment, prices are still up a bit but the selection is fantastic. You have the skills and the tools to build your own, your way ahead of the game (y)

I really had no interest in an AR until the beginning of the scamdemic. My wife of all people told me I should buy one now before it's too late. Like a lot of first timers I was intimidated by the whole " Build one" thing. So I bought an Adams Arms Voodoo Innovations Witch Doctor. Of course the first thing I did was took it apart. When I realized it really is like Legos for adults I decided to give it a shot and bought my first stripped lower. I've "Built" ( I use that term loosely because it's not really building anything, just assembling) about 15 now and stripped and "Remodeled" a bunch more. Although I shoot my ARs a lot and my monthly ammo budget is more than some people earn in a month, at heart I am really a shotgun and handgun junkie. "Building" ARs is addicting though.

These days almost all the major players are building decent ARs. Good enough for 99% of the people that own them. I have a couple BCAs I built that run like scalded dogs. And I spent less on them than I do on cigs and beer for the month. Are they guns I would take into combat ? No, but I don't think that'll be a problem for me. :) I have much nicer stuff, but I still want at least one BCM and one Noveske. And I see myself doing a few Aero Precision "Builds" before it's over just because they are pretty high quality, have decent barrels and can be built for $600-ish.

My Wilson Combat is a gun you wouldn't hesitate to take to an end of the world party. SS button rifled barrel you can put 10k rounds through and still turn around and give to your kid with no hesitation. Just a stupid accurate gun. Sub 1" groups @ 100 yards and that's guaranteed by WC. Rosco barrels are fantastic. BA is a premium barrel and PSAs "Premium" CHF barrels are made by FN and are the same as the ones they supply to the US military.

Wilson Combat makes great bolt carrier groups. Aero makes nice ones too and affordable. Toolcraft will run with the big dogs. I like NiB or Black Nitride. Really these days everything MilSpec is going to be pretty decent.

Triggers is another rabbit hole. Lots of love for Giessele and with good reason, but I won't spend that kind of cash on a trigger when I can get a great trigger for about $100. For cartridge triggers I'm digging James Madison Tactical. I prefer Mil Spec type triggers in serious guns though and right now I am all in to the Hiperfire Designated Marksman. The PSA EPT trigger is the best sub $100 trigger I have found. Has a little pre travel and they are a couple pounds heavier than the Hiperfire, but it is smooth and has a very short, tight reset.

Great barrel, great BCG and nice trigger. Everything else is Aesthetics.

Agreed
LaRue's MVT triggers are great for sub 100 dollars too. I love POF's single stage drop ins also. I put a Gieselle 3 gun race trigger in my DD, but its very different from everything else I have so I may go with something else later if I don't adapt to it. The initial pre travel is much longer to the wall, its made to ride the reset, which is fantastic, but that can be finicky when moving/firing. I guess I'm just more accustomed to a regular single stage since Ive been using them so long. Im gonna give it more time and train with it and see what happens. There are so many great triggers out there at the moment its crazy. One of the owners of Altus had a Triggertech prototype single stage in his personal AR he was testing for them that was ridiculously good, I'm not sure about the model, but they are stupid expensive too.
Its a great time to be a trigger snob

I'm a single stage trigger guy.

FWIW, PSA has some Geissele's on sale this weekend. I have the G2S, which besides being really nice, is $120. Sometimes it can be found cheaper (BF, Veterans day, etc.).
Recently picked up a BCM PNT. Smooth, about 5.7# average pull.

Wow that's a killer price for a Geissele, I love their stuff I just think I should have gotten the regular single stage instead of the Super 3 G. I thought it would be perfect for that DD, but in reality Ive ended up with several different race triggers different guns, and they all have slightly different reset points so I end up letting off more than I should when moving through a stage and its really noisy. On that particular trigger there is twice the pullback before you touch go. I just need to spend a bit more time with it. Or change it out to a POF drop in and it would be a non issue. I think they are rated at 4 lbs but I swear it feels like 3.5 its so crisp and breaks beautifully. I have 3 of them so it may be I'm just more used to them

My Hiperfires break at 3.5 and the JMT drop ins break at 3. All have pretty much no travel to reset. Smooth as butter drippin' off a hot biscuit.

SG Ammo currently has Lake City M193 for $440-ish/case and free shipping. Plus Winchester has a 20% mail in rebate. Max rebate is $75, which is realized if you buy a case. They also have LC M855 at a good price and the IMI 193 ( which is great stuff) is $460/900 rds.
