I have always been a huge fan of Days of the New especially the first album.

I also loved the tone of Travis' acoustic Taylor guitars. Would love a flamed Koa with a Florentine cutaway especially one like Travis had when he had his on stage melt down in 2003.

I have heard form people in the business he is hard to work with and can be an asshole.

Just wondering if anyone has heard about what is going on with him or the band. I heard he got arrested again but don't see any media outlets confirming this, here is a mugshot of someone named Travis Meeks and same age...;

Video of Travis flipping out and smashing a beautiful Taylor Koa acoustic:

Some great DOTN songs and one by Travis Meeks and Lennon:

I loved the first album when it came out and still listen to it. I have the others and there's good material on them but I don't think they're as good overall as the yellow album. I never got to see them live but did get to see the original Tantric lineup before all their changeups.

It's too bad Travis can't get his shit together for long enough. I would have loved to see the original band on the reunion tour a few years ago.

That mug shot definitely looks like it's him. Found this on Wikipedia with a quick search and it lines up with the mug shot date of 2017.

In 2017 he was also arrested for charges of burglary, fleeing or evading police on foot, public intoxication charges, and possession of a controlled substance

He's a meth addict, which is why he's so hard to work with. If he doesn't get his stuff together, he's not long for this world.

He is featured on an episode of that TV show Intervention i saw a few years ago, should be on Youtube maybe? I remember liking the band back in the 90's, good stuff.

My band opened for them a few years ago on the last or second to last night of the reunion tour before the cops caught up to him. By that point, the other guys in the band had left the tour and we was playing half of the set solo, and half of the set with some guests.

It was pretty tough to see him backstage, because he was completely out of it.

....but it was also one of the most incredible performances I've ever seen in my life. Travis is amazing. Everyone's jaw was on the floor once he started playing. Dude didn't miss a note. Really hoping that he can find his way. He's an astoundingly talented guy.

I almost feel like they would be more popular coming out right now than back then. I think they got a bad rap for the low voice, etc. and people said DOTN were trying to be like Pearl Jam, etc. I used to love that first album. It is a shame he has had all of the drug problems. I can tell you that if I had to hear the hick, drunk voices yelling at me in that one clip, I probably would have started taking drugs right there on stage.

After watching that video above I found the other two parts. He was trying to play a show and made it through three songs before smashing the guitar, the crowd was a bunch of assholes the whole time. Somebody should have bounced that guy off the stage immediately, I can understand Travis' frustration.

Oh man, I thought that guy was the singer in Travis' band. That is ridiculous. All of us that have been in bands have occasionally had to deal with jerks like that in the crowd or people just being difficult in general.

Ugh.. maybe he should start a new band with Wes Scantlin. Lol

I actually like their 3rd album a lot, their 2nd album was ehhhh, ok.

This song from the 3rd album was in Black Hawk Down.
