Are these worth even messing with in front of an amp/preamp or do they suck more tone than they are worth. I was thinking it might be kind of cool to use with different amps to add some Mids and a slight boost for solos, since they are dual band 15 could put each band in a different GCX loop and use 2 different settings depending on application?

So are they worth it, or just not really for a guitar rig and more of a pro audio device?

from what people have told me its a bit overkill for guitar. not sure about the tone suckage but an MXR 10 band is a better option cause it focusis on the guitars freqs. and not sub bass all the way up

If you're looking for an EQ to go in front of your amp, I would recommend a parametric. Graphics are a little too aggressive IMO. I've got a Rane 5 band parametric sitting in my studio rack, not doing a darn thing. It's yours for $50 if you want to give it a try...

The rockman EQ's are pretty sweet also when you can find them.

They have a wide range of particular mid-range frequencies that come in very handy for tweaking your guitar tone, both in front of the amp and in the loop.
