I don’t know. I had one years ago when they came out and remember it sounded very small. I had a hard time believing it was 45 watts. The transformers are puny. For about the same money the EVH Iconic will mop the floor with the Randall

I have one, I wouldn't say its garbage but I wouldn't pay this price since they jacked em way up. Someone posted a few months ago a ProAudioStar deal for around $400 and no one seemed to bite. I got mine for around 375 new. If you can get them for around 400 its a steal.

Is there a 50w version?? I have the little 1w one I really enjoy and was interested in one of the bigger ones, but I remember one of the versions was supposed to be a lot better than the other for some reason

No just the 45 and 100 afaik, the 45 is supposed to be better but I've never tried the 100.
From the videos I've heard it sounds close to the 1 & 5w. I initially had some problems cutting in the mix until I figured it out. The boost engages a cathode bypass cap that gives you more gain and treble.
Its kind of dark and 'singy' but I was running long runs of crappy cables which made it even darker. Add in some buffers and low capacitance cables and you're good.
I run it with an sd1 in front and Ibanez pteq in the loop into an Uberkab. I've got 2 7025s in v1, v3, and a tung sol in v2. Idk if the preamp tube swap is really necessary but the whole setup sounds really great now.
