I was try to sell it, mainly cuz I'm just running out of room and we can't move in the studio but we got a new studio 3 times the size so I'm sending it to Dave to swap out the 6550's with el34;s and put maybe a fat knob on the front. It already has the KS. What do you guys think?

Hey Papa James. Won't it pretty much be the exact same as the other one? The Fat Switch adds a little bottom and is super cool, but it's not that big of a difference. Maybe if you got that and the Saturation Switch too it will add another dimension to it the other one dosesn't have?

I just put a set of KT88's in mine and it sounds even bigger now. Kinda like a cross between EL34's and the 6550's. Still has the EL34 vibe....grindy mids...but less compressed and a little more bottom and muscular. I really dig it. Hey, howz your dad? Is everything OK?

I'm good Papa Jerry. You may be right but the amps seem to sound pretty different. I will talk to dave about the KT88's.

Dropped it off with Dave, he's gonna trip it out with the same mod that's on Cantrell's new amp.

How does that mod differ from the Kitchen Sink?

He said it's a bit heavier with a bit different voicing. Not sure first hand, maybe he will chime in????

Thanks! I've talked to Dave about adding a "Fat" and "Modern" switch to the KS, but I was curious if this was something different entirely.

KT88's are a drop in replacement for 6550's just put in and bias

Oh my God the amp is so massive I can't believe it. I am so glad no one bought it and I'm so glad Dave redid it. The Cantrell mod and new 6550's. It has the bounce of Angus with the saturation of Sykes. Unreal Dave, I love it. Been playing all afternoon, all my buddies came over and just shit.

'76>Scumback 1969 Cab>Les Paul=

How does it differ from the KS? More gain, different voice, etc?

I don't really know, he changed the tubes at the same time. So there were 2 changes. It sounds fatter and thinker. Which I wanted, the bounciness I think could be a result of the 6550's too. Not sure. Maybe he can answer better.

Wow! Wonder if a Marsha amp could be had with the Custom 45 and Cantrell mods?? Dave??
