Didn't someone come out with a Roland SDE style delay pedal? I thought I saw something about a year ago where a company had made one of there 80s delay units in a pedal format. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?

Boss did... it's all in the DD500 patches. I got one a few months ago and absolutely love it, it is easy to make your own patches and save them. I mainly use the SDE3000 for W/D/W EVH balance and echoplex pacthes and they sound outstanding I couldn't be happier, they have rack like quality to them but in nice pedal form, pedal is well built in Taiwan, price is good too. I think it has just about every SDE version in it that was noteworthy. It can do mono or stereo with multiple signal routing capabilities within the channels as well. Make sure you get the version 2.0 model it has the upgraded firmware.

ACEV has some outstanding clips of it through his EVH 50 watter.

Roland was supposed to answer the Korg SDD3000 pedal with a SDE3000 pedal, they had Vai do videos about it and what not but it never happened. But there are a couple of pedals that specialize in those old DDL-style echoes, not the least the Strymon DIG.

DD-2 and MIJ DD-3 use the same chip as the SDE-3000 but you're still missing the preamp section and modulation.
