Delay Recommendation

I am seeking a delay for the loop of my Mesa IIC+ and wanted some recommendations. Nothing outrageous in cost. I would love to have a TC 2290 again but due to the unavailability of parts and service, that is no longer an option. I was thinking rack unit but it doesn't necessarily need to be. Music I play is mainly 80's hair to metal (Metallica - go figure...). It doesn't have to be stereo for I am not sure I would go that route. I was thinking of a Rolande SDE-3000 as an option. Does anyone know of any audio/video of one? I can't seem to find anything on Youtube. Anyhow, any recommendations for my quest would be grateful.

Thanks,
Scott

I have the TC Flashback X4 and am really happy with that..

If it's just for the loop you can't go wrong with the Hardwire/Digitech stuff, or some of the more obscure EHX.

Great bang for the buck. I own a shitload of boutique pricey mega shi-shi pedals, but the Hardwire's get my nod for pricepoint and job-done well categories.

In the 200-300 dollar range the Boss DD500 is good. Under 100 bucks Hardwire DL8.

I have the following: Boss DD500, El Capistan, DD3, Echoplex EP3, Rockman Stereo Echo, Bell Epoch, PCM 41. All are very very nice...but I have to say that the $60 Digitech DL8 hangs with any of them IMHO....

Digitech = Harman = Lexicon.

Not surprising Digitech time based effects pedals sound rather good.

Great bang for the buck too.

Nothing beats the Rockman Stereo Echo..

Thanks Guys! You have given me a lot of options to look at. Maybe I'll pick up a used Digitech DL-8 and give it a spin.

you wont be disappointed with the DL-8 it is a great delay. I have bought 1 twice they are nice. If you want simplicity the EQD dispatch master is awesome.

I have a couple of DD500s. Love them! Now with the boss editor for them, it's even more fun!

Got myself a TC Alter ego V.1 toneprint pedal (the beige one, its a "custom" flash back for someone ?)

I'm not SUPER big on delay, i like some tape delay and/or 2290-like dynamic , the version i've got has an echorec setting that sounds quite passable if i feel like doing some floyd

as well as making your own "patches / prints" a wide array of sounds available when you dig into the phone or pc editor.

its like a good swiss army knife for delay. i don't use it alot, but when i do it is quite easy to get the sound you are looking for.
fairly available (atleast as a flash back), and generally not outrageously priced if you get the single pedal unit

A great delay. Highly recommended.

The TC Flashback has a 2290 setting on it. It is not expensive.
