What are you guys using for fx processors?
Suggestions?
TC Electronic G-Major 2 - everything you need in one box. Literally completely transparent.

Maybe it is worth my while holding off and saving for the G Major 2 then.. I have a line on a G sharp but i just read something about the effects not being stackable and that kind of blows seeing as I would want to run Delay + Verb together. The nova repeater would be good but if i am spending money anyway, maybe i should put a bunch of unused pedals on the market and then see where I am at.

You can run 2 effects at the same time and mix the levels on each effect the G-Sharp.

Alesis quadraverb. No kidding. It still works fine for me so I don't see any need to "upgrade"

You guys think 160$ (canadian) for a G sharp and a foot control is a decent price? used goods are scarse up here ..

edit: it sold..

Depending on the situation:

Rocktron xPression or Replifex
TC G-Major
BOSS GT-8
BOSS DD-20 (Modulation Setting)
Line6 M13

Cheers,

Is it correct to assume that it is only digital effects that have this problem in line level effect loops? Analog circuitry should be fine i'd assume.

I am looking for a unit that will give me a short delay (240ms) and a bit of reverb, preferably with a noise gate.

Suggestions?

The processors I normally use are:
Eventide H8000FW
Lexicon PCM80
TC Electronic 2290
TC Electronic 1210
Rocktron: Intellifex, 300G (Compressor)

Not a safe assumption... Ex. Analog pedals such as the EHX DMM, clip rather easily, and have not done well with line level signal series loops, when I've tried. I don't like parallel loops at all.

I agree with those who've suggested a couple of inexpensive units, working in tandem-- considering budget restraints.

Inexpensive units I've owned/own/used/use and like:

Rocktron: Intellifex, Replifex, Intelliverb
Yamaha: SPX90, SPX90 II, SPX900, UD Stomp, Majik Stomp
TC Electronic: G-Major, I've used the TC M-One reverb and it might be something you check into, to see if it is a viable solution for your preference, I'd suggest the G-Major may be, for near the same $$$ a bigger bang for the $$$.

The Alesis Quadraverb, and/or MIDIverb may be something you find acceptable.

Thought I'd revisit this thread.. what about LINE level affordable rack units or pedals. What are you guys using? Just found out the Randall stuff is basically all line level so I am screwed with my DD3 and digiverb. Looking for some cost effective alternatives.

Check out anything by EHX... They're well priced and they sound great!

Well as luck would have it, I found someone selling one used so I just saved some $ and will have spent just a bit more than I wanted for a used G Major II. Time to clean out some pedals.. Overdrive-noise suppression-phaser, not sure what else I'll need now. Well, hands maybe :P

Rocktron Intellifex and Replifex
Alesis Quadaverb
Boss RV-3 or RV-5 and DD-3 pedals(when traveling light)
All run through an amp's effects loop.

I'd like to try the TC Electronic G-System eventually. Looks very neat and compact, and seems good for looping my boosts/overdrives at the rack. Hope it sounds as nice as it looks.

You can run 7 effects simaltaneously on the g-major/g-major 2.

If you are running fx in parallel the G-Major/II is a great unit but if you are running things in series the Rocktron units(Not the Expression) are much more transparent than anything else due to their analog dry path.

TC Nova system works well for me. Very transparent and plenty of programmable options.
Can't argue with that.
I can't decide how I like it better. I have two boards that I keep going back and forth with for gigging. One the Nova System is in the loop just for effects...the other has the Nova System in front of the amp where I can use the boost/distortion along with the effects.
