Delay w/ slight detune effect

Anyone know of a delay that can do a slight detune to the repeats? Kind of similar to a chorus effect, but more of a consistent pitch without the swirly sound?

I've been in love with the sound ever since I heard Sabbaths Live in '75 bootleg years ago as imparts a really thick/heavy tone on his guitar. I'm told it was a characteristic of the Korg tape echo he was using at the time. I'm looking for a more convenient option.

Can any of TC's newer products hit those sounds? I don't really need studio quality in my live rig.

Eventide PitchFactor

The Pitch Factor has delay effects with trails, correct?

g major II - 50ms delay max on the detune setting

So a double tracked effect?

Is it a set detune? Or can you fine tune the depth?

stereo detune L and R each channel can have a max delay of 50ms on the detune setting. if you want more delay you'll have to stack two GMII's or get another delay source for each channel and add delay that way.

if you need more, another source worth mentioning is the G-force, i believe its capable of 300ms or more and you can block assign delay to the detune setting all in the same unit. it is what i plan to get :)

The G-Major II has a routing option that allows only the delays to be modulated, so that could be another way to do it.

A number of people are recommending simple modulated delays. I'm not looking for a chorus effect. I'm looking for something that can detune the repeat without any modulation.

Well, than I highly recommend the Pitch Factor. Somewhat expensive but awesome in many many ways and worth every penny. I use mine more and more the more I tinker around with it.

In the case of modulated delays, a very slow and very shallow sweep could possibly approximate the effect you want. Minimize the swirl, so to speak, without going into vibrato mode.

The Reptile has an adjustable modulation where you can make it sound like a detune...

Correct. Of all the Factor series pedals, the Pitch will do the most - it has incredible delay effects albeit it's actually a Pitch based stomp. I've found that, having all three, the one most utilized is the Pitch, and the delays it offers are awesome. Not as much or as many as the TimeFactor, obviously, but the request of a detuned delay is certainly attainable from this stomp. And it's a piece of engineering goodness too!!

Agreed, the PF is the biz.

Cool. I have a Time Factor that I like, but I've never been able to get a detune effect out of it. I wasn't really thinking about the Pitchfactor as I don't really feel the need to have a harmonizer, however if I get the chance I may look at getting one anyway.

The Pitch Factor is awesome even if you never use the straight-up harmonizer features. I rarely use them, but I love how it´s able to produce cool takes on "normal" effects. Not to mention all the atmospheric stuff that can really add mojo to a mix. It´s a very powerful unit, and to me it´s definitely the crown jewel in that pedal line.
