I actually got this about a month ago. I’ve got 2 EGC’s now. I don’t usually go for recent made guitars anymore unless they have unique materials that you wouldn’t find in older guitars (and therefore maybe also have a unique sound), and the EGC’s are a perfect example of this. I consider these to be among the more innovative, unique and better sounding guitars currently being made. Not for everyone though. They’re very loud acoustically, more so than some hollow bodies even. I guess these technically are hollowbodies with a neck through, but they don’t sound like it really. They have more clarity and pop to the notes than any wood guitar with that metallic zing. No wood guitar will be anywhere near as bright (even maple body), but it’s bright in a musical way, not harsh and has enough of the other frequencies to balance it out. The 2nd one I got with p90’s can get very harpsichord like sounds, which I love. They’re also heavy (10.5 lbs and 9.1 lbs), but sound huge and powerful as a result of that

Ironically, I think it works well for playing most styles, but metal. I think because the notes ring out so well on these metal bodies they’re just not as tight or percussive sounding as my wooden guitars. They can still work for metal, but wouldn’t be my first choice. Also, they lack the growl, texture, and warmth of a good wooden guitar, especially a mahogany one. I play my favorite wooden guitars more often, but these are still amazing instruments. Probably in my top of 5 of what I have. That number 5 spot is a toss up between one of my EGC’s or my quilt maple ESP

When I go from an EGC to a wooden guitar I notice all the warmth and growl that I was missing, but then I go back to the EGC and notice all the clarity, zing, brightness, and notes popping out more. Nice to have the contrast of flavors

The first EGC I got (with humbuckers) is now loaded with a set of Tone Specific Virtuoso’s (my favorite and only current made pickups I’ve been using the last few years), which were a huge improvement over the stock EGC pickups. The stock EGC’s were actually good and better than most pickups made today, but not on the same level still and too bright in it. The P90’s in this last one I got are nice and a bit different sounding than regular P90’s, but still plan to eventually try some real vintage P90’s in it
