So I have now had, Re-20, TC Repeater, Vox Timemachine, I have the El Capistan and am now looking at the super deal by empress. Will I ever be happy? What do you guys use?

I really loved my empress superdelay. It literally did everything. I'm using the TC Flashback right now. I still haven't gone through all of its possibilities/functions but I love it so far. Good stuff

I also have a Malekko E600. Not as versatile but sounds great. Delays are so much fun :D

I am thinking the vm delay is for me, but I will take what I can get in a trade

Can't go wrong with that

If I were to get another Superdelay I'd get the VM.

I wonder if it is the crappy fx loop in my stage 1 that is making me keep moving on, or lack of presets on the delay

I use Line 6 Echo pro and DL4. Pretty happy with both.

:D tried the dl4 very cool, too big size wise for me, uhhh, that isnt how it sounds

You know what I'm gonna say...

Eventide TimeFactor 100% of the way :2thumbsup:

It depends on the amp. For my CA OD2, its the El Cap, for my Weber, either a DD3 or a Wampler Analogue Echo. For my son's Hot rodded Mashall clone its the Maxon AD999.

I've been through a bunch of high end delays, and my search has ended with the T-rex Reptile

you know I have a reptile at work, I may need to try it at home, only demoed at the shop

The adjustable volume is where it's at

The Empres superdelay is a perfect pedal and it's cool to save up to 8 presets. It sounds good im a parallel as well as in a series loop.
If you want perfect tape delay sounds, get the vintage modified superdelay.

The only thing is the changing of the presets - you have to go through the presets and confirm the one you want to activate - takes time. Not perfect if you want to change a lot of presets whithin a song.

There is the strymon timeline delay coming this year, this one might be worth a look..

someone trade the el cap plus cash for a empress, I think I want to try this THHHHHANNNGGGG

the MXR CC for a fairly long time, and now the tc flashback delay, if they finally release the toneprint editor, it's a winner for the price

i also have a line6 m9 on the board which works very well, analog pedals definitely sound better but in a live/band mix situation i doubt many people could really spot the difference

I love delays! I haven't got any really expensive and fancy ones.

On my main pedal board I have the MXR Carbon Copy. A unit that does one thing great!

Next to it sits the Digitech Hardwire. This stomp offers good value for what it does.

The Marshall Echohead, despite not being mentioned that often, really is a good pedal for me. The delays are not over-the-top and exactly because of this highly usable, if you want unobtrusive ambience.

I also own the EHX Memory Man w/ Hazarai. This unit is inspiring...a great delay toy! It has 8 slots to store sounds but I haven't found the whole operation very practical. However, this unit allows for much spontaneous delay fun. The downside is that it sucks tone in your loop. This and the size are reasons why it's not on my main pedal board. Anyway, as I said, good fun!

I used to have the DD-6 and DD-20. Sorry, I don't like Boss pedals at all (had a few).
I never really liked any delays out of multi-fx units (Line 6, Boss, Korg).

My next purchase is going to be the TC Electronic Flashback. Just have to try it. And from there I guess I'll plunge deeper into the field of boutique delays. Have to try at least one or two to see if they're really all that and more. ;)

yeah i had the EHX MM w/ hazarai too, had some cool features but it sucked tone baadd , if they had replaced the 'blend' (wet/dry mix knob) with a simple FX or level knob instead it would be better imo, the looper is a bit weird as well if you're used to other units (you release your foot to stop recording/start the loop playing), the really cool thing i thought was screwing around with your loop afterwards, making it radio sounding, speeding it up/slowing it down like a tape, fun stuff
