Hey everyone, I've always wanted to contribute a bit more than just reading though the forum but haven't really had anything really 'show ready' to post up, until now. When I moved on from my last job a little over a year ago I picked up a Live as a gift to myself for working all the hours I'd dropped in for several months prior to me putting in my notice. Also, it had the added benefit of replacing my aging Pod X3 that stopped working under OS X that I had been using for scratch tracks and demos. Immediately fell in love with it, and now outside of some tracks that require something a bit more involved this has become the go to for all tracking.
I'm currently writing for two projects, one a more produced radio rock (think Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, ect.) and the one I'm sharing a bit of today. This project is more in the vein of Third Eye Blind and Matchbox Twenty when it comes to it's roots but with the added benefit of being able to cross a bit further into the realm of pop music as well. That's part of the reason I figured I'd share from here first rather than the other band as there's not a lot of demos in the low gain/crunch area, or at the best they're just harder to come by.
This first track, titled "Every Moment", was tracked with a Marshall JVM 205H between Clean/Crunch Orange and Red into the Live which was fed into a Propellerhead Balance into Logic Pro X. The guitar used for the rhythm tracks was an Epiphone Dot Studio loaded with the bridge and neck position Dimarzio 36th Anniversary pups and an upgraded wiring harness wired 50's style. The guitar used for leads was a PRS SE Custom Semi Hollow loaded with the stock PRS SE Treble in the bridge position and a Gibson P94 in the neck position with stock electronics.
The non-guitar related items are just an Epiphone Thunderbird bass into a SansAmp PBDI layered with Amplitube's Ampeg SVT-CL model and drums provided my Ezdrummer 2. Keys and choir sounds are all just stock Logic plugins with tweaks to make them their own in the song. Nothing really exciting past that, it's not mixed the best as these are basically just demos prior to recording proper at the top of the year. So I'll apologize in advance for that. However, hope you guys enjoy and maybe hearing it will help some one else questioning if the Live will work for them to know what it can do.
Thanks!
