Anyone here ever play a diamond hammersmith? Sounds great in the clips.

I've tried pretty much all the Diamond models and the Hammersmith was my least favorite. Something like a Wizard, Henning Cherry Bomb, or Friedman will smoke it. My favorite Diamond was the Nitrox, but that's obviously modern voiced. Decada, Heretic, and Phantom were also good and also modern. I was also very impressed by the Assassin. Much louder than most amps of the same wattage and possibly my favorite lunchbox highe gainer.

Diamond is one of those companies I hear about all the time but have literally never seen anyone play.

Haven't been here in awhile funny to see u Art asking about Diamond. First you know how well they are built n that phantom n nitrox both sounded pretty awesome.

Many pros use diamond don't believe the bad rap bullshit or the rigtalk cock talk they are great amps n built well.

yea the phantom was build as good as any, mercury iron etc. The hammersmith with the diode clipping option seem like it would be geared for the 80's tones. Just curious if anyone heard one and what they thought.

Soldano and Diamond have teamed up with a marketing agreement and some new amps coming. Supposedly, the first to roll out will be an updated SLO with the preamp of an SLO and the power end and peripheral functions of one of Jeff's amps. Not sure where they are in the game at the present time though. Should be a cool amp for those liking features of both amps.

I own a Hammersmith and its freaking unbelievable. If I where to do an 80's band this would be the amp I'd go with... hell, I've used it for everything from 80's to deathmetal. It doesn't have the modern voicing of the Nitrox or even the Heretic, but it does play well with both of them. It can however get mean if you want it.

I had a chance to take it to Houston and compare it to a quickrod and a nirto and I preferred it over the splawns by far. Think JCM800 with the most magical mods know to man with a hint of roids... I think the guy I got it from is on here ... Dewrell you listening ??

Are you near N. Texas by chance ?

Not to start a shitstorm ( :scared:   ) but wasn't the "bad rap" started because Diamond stole some amp designs from Suhr? All of their stuff looks pretty solid to me. The quality of their pedals is ridiculously good.

Yep they have some big names that use them http://www.diamondamplification.com/artists.html
Also I remember Virus from Dope tellin' some years ago how Awesome these amps are. Also recently I was At a DBZ Guitar clinic they also make Diamond amps. The clinic was w/ Jeff Diamond(CEO DBZ & Diamond amps), John Corabi(you should know who he is but he uses the guitars & amps), & Thomas Church(Mushroomhead also uses them) I pretty much went to hang w/ Corabi. But the guitars & amps are nice.

Diamond and Soldano working together?! interesting

According to the scuttle-butt, It's going to be a slo 100 and a phantom power section (Could be wrong, just going off of rumors).

Diamond never sounded good to me. Way too grainy. Felt and sounded like a glorified Crate.

But this was In their isolation room at NAMM, with their guy playing and settings were his.

I didn't like a single sound I heard.

I gotta agree. I tried a spec op. Then I owned a nitrox for almost a year. No joy.
