Diamond Heretic or Diezel Hagen

Diamond amps are among the worst sounding amplifiers I have ever heard. I have no idea who is doing the R&D and design work for them but they consistently put out products that sound awful. I am sure they are built well, they just sound bad.

I'd agree. except for the Hammersmith. It's a pretty cool modded marshall-type amp. I think you'd like that one. They have one over at Guitar Res. Mike consulted on the voicing/design.

Yeah, I talked to him about it a long time ago. Didn't seem like he was into it. Maybe the final one came out better. In any event, I am not interested in any Diamond product so it is an easy one for me.

OOFAH!!! Didnt you ,me and Ralphie stumble upon these guys when they debuted at NAMM? They most definitely did sound terrible and the crasy thing was that we were told that Martin Golub was involved. I dont know the depth of his involvement but that guy definitely knows tone...

The forza has a super pristine tone to it. I hate splawn had 3 nitro n borrowed a quickrod. One day they sound great the next day they sound like crap? Probably me. Whatever. Forza is way diff than diezel cannot compare just know I love them both. Next stop hagen!

Any chance you could at least comment on which has the biggest thumping bottom end out of the Herbert or the Forza? I would imagine the Herbert would be tighter and less fizzy too right? Thanks!

Herbert has bigger thump but mike is putting in a mod to make forza thump. However the forza is not fizzy it is not a copy cat amp by any means it is very tight n pristine sounding.

Have you played an ENGL SE or Framus Cobra at all..? Does the Herbert has as much thump as them? I own the SE and Cobra but have never even heard a Herbert in person. I have owned the Einstein 100 though...

I got a Herbert a vew years back and sold my engl se within 6 months, but that doesnt mean you will
I took the herbert to practice and put it through a 4x12 marshall cab they had in the room, the first time i had it that loud and man it dominated. The engl is a beast but with the herbert its always playing and with the engl its always eq'ing. The engl had alot off low end, even to much, al those options but it didnt have a deep knob. I must convess i didnt like the engl that much, it had a freaky mid range thing going on and ive met alot of e670 players that experiance the same.

But for youre question, the herbert has THUMP, if posible try a herbert with 6550 tubes in it for the thump experiance
