Epiphone LP7 with Miracle Mans> CAL redeemer> 4.23> RD50> Randall 2x12 1x15
take 1 is the Diavlo L&R with a ribbon mic & 57 on a 12". I moved the cab a bit for the right take looking for tones
take 2 is the same as above but with an added green screamer on the KPA pre and a djent eq (post on the KPA)
take 3 are the 2 Fortin profiles I made last week for a different axe/tune

Right around 2:00 it sounds like a Savatage tone.

Hey Ray, those sound great! I hear just a little darker tone on the Kemper part, but it still sounds great. Probably just mic placement during profiling.

When I was profiling my amps, I know that I had to spend so much time getting the mic placement just right. I ended up doing 10 or 12 different profiles of each amp! But that's because I'm still a recording noob

Sounds mean as all hell. I like the first take the best which surprised me a bit. I usually like things boosted a bit but there is so much gain in there to start with, I don't think it needed it.

agreed
Funny, on my own I'm using different boost pedals and eq- but in the ned the mix sounded best with less aggressive eq, gain and boost. Typical guitar player trap- too much of everything...I know that trap is there and I fall right in, lol

The last clip is of the Fortin profile with Rhecto cab I used on the ZW1-26 track. That profile seemed a bit dark here with the Epi MMans, but sounds perfect with the Gobson LP w/ Aftermaths on the ZW track.

I actually didn't love the mic placement and settings at first, but hearing it in a mix really fits quite nicely. I'll upload the profiles when I get achance if anyone is interested. the ZW Fortin one is available at the KPA site, but it is under Pete's name, as his name is burned in as original author. I just added a different cab and eq but really like the results. Is that a fo pah? I hope not...

Hopefully I get a chance to jam some more today
