LMAO, I don't think YJM ever gave a fuck about Impelliteri or ever listened to his music. Of that I'm sure! No doubt if you saw the magazines back in the day Chris was sporting Yngwie's look/everything. I think you're off base here by 1000%....

Then how did Yngwie write a song using the exact same riff

My theory is that Yngwie was like "oh for fockkk sakkee another clone of me trying to unleash the focking fury" then gave them a listen and said "okay that's a cool riff" then forgot about it for a few years. Then wrote Making Love with that melody in his subconscious

The chances of it being coincidental are slim
Lol, hehe that's funny:)....but I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell lmao....really.

Did you even listen to the songs posted above? The riffs are pretty much identical and the Impelliteri came out first.
Don't irritate the fanbois by using facts and logic...we need to go along with their biased feelings
Pff....fug off! Yes I did, and I agree with dude above...it happens. Do I think Yngwie needs to/or would rip off Impelliteri? It's so silly it's comical. It happens, period! I'm not biased about it, just stating my opinion.

i would love to watch bruce lee rapidly kick impy in his vj

I've listened to both albums back to back and there are so many similarities it's pretty crazy

Making love and Stand in Line is the same riff

The groove in Leviathan is the same as How Many Miles, even the arraignment is so similar.

The strange thing is Imperitelli's album came first meaning that Yngwie was maybe "influenced" on his early 90s albums. Clearly Imperitelli is a Yng-clone but is Yngwie copying the copy of himself?

2:00 on wards:

I assume you're talking about the intro riff? If so I'd say they are similar but not really THAT close (unless I'm COMPLETEY tone deaf). I prefer the Impellitteri riff myself. Now the tune that sounds like Kiss Domino I consider those much closer.

The grove is identical, that's objective, but the chords are a little different when transposed to E however follow the same pattern.

I guess it's like saying that one pop song sounds like the others. Dig deep enough and you'll find similarities but I never expected it this bad from Mr. Malmsteen

I love both guitarists and Stand in Line as a whole is Chris' weakest album (by a long shot) as well as being the most derivative of Yngwie. Leviathan on SIL is a direct rip of I am a Viking, even to the point that the lyrics are pretty similar. There were a few others on SIL that also were pretty blatant. With that said, Chris said that the producers wanted to capture that Rainbow/Yngwie vibe, especially with Graham essentially utilizing Chris as Alcatrazz part 4. For those really wanting to hear Graham and Chris at their best, check out System X, they absolutely rip on that.

To your point though, I think there are only so many neo classical chord progressions built around E harmonic minor.

No matter who stole what, Chris is rippin in this clip above! (snare suffers from Malmsteenesque drum production though) I personally like him on his own merits and sometimes find him more melodic than a lot of Malmsteen after the Eclipse era...

holy shit how the hell has that gone un "challenged" ?

Honestly for me, that isn't enough to win a case on. It is changed enough though it follows the same structure..

But then again, if Tom Petty can win a copyright suit of Sam Smith for this one then I guess Yngwie should pay up!

Even if the riff was note for note the same Yngwie would still relentlessly deny it

"I owe nothing to Blackmore"
- Yngwie J Malmsteen

While on the subject, nobody was more guilty than Led Zep. Their first album may as well be called a cover album.

Jeeeez! Imagine being called a legend and living off the royalties of songs you secretly ripped off... I'd get a serious guilt complex and end up doing alot of drugs and buying a jet.... put and organ in it...

Yngwie "borrow" from Blackmore, Bach, Paganini other classical guys(though he does thank the classical guys in the liner notes usually)....NO fucking doubt LMAO, without question....but Impellitteri, sorry just do not agree ;)

All he needs is the fish face and the picture is complete.

Impellitteri

Impellitteri

Impellitteri

:poke:

Yngwie has been plagiarizing his own material repeatedly since his first couple of albums lol, at least soloing wise...it's not such a stretch to imagine him possibly duping a groove or progression here and there anyway. He's clearly had far more players copying his approach then vise versa, so all in all, heh, no biggie either way.

WOW! This is huge what a ripoff. Dazed and Confused is crazy... that said, Zep did make these tunes way better but I could take a song and make it way better too. Terrible.

malmsteen would wish he could write such a song nowadays...

ps:how do we post a yt video????
the function won't work...

That tune does kick major ass and I really like the singer BUT once again Chris leans on that open A standup and shout lick. Same sort of deal in the other linked song of his in this thread. I guess you rock what works!

EDIT: I just now listened to three songs off his new album and every single lead starts the same way. I might as well just listen to one lead on repeat. Come on Chris, show some versatility bro!

I will always love Yngwie, he's by dude. In fact his dogmatic denial owing anything to Blackmore is quite entertaining. He worshipped the guy, dressed like him, used his gear, scalloped his fretboard like him (though he denies this), plays deep purple songs live, does all the Blackmore stage moves, plays classical influenced solos etc.

Would he really be Yngwie if he said "yo I'm like blackmore on speed"....
