I saw this concert back in July and it was awesome. His slide solo on Mother was really great. But, very surprised to see the Mesa 4x12 here since you'd expect something like that to be seen on Stryper or Night Ranger's back line   But I've alwayas said those old cabs sound great and are a complete STEAL since lot's of people use their eyes and not their ears. :D

I've got one of those cabs, LOVE IT!!! had one years ago and sold it, regretted it ever since, FINALLY picked one up a few months back. STUPIDLY under rated cabs.

They are not pretty enough and do not come in wheat danny and they clash with other heads.

Simple as that.

Dopes.

Hmm, never thought of them as being underrated. The Recto cabs have just been so dominant for Mesa the last 20 years, so that's all you see around. Players "in the know"....know about the metal grilles and the MS & EV speakers.

I have one, it's been my main cab since I bought it new in '91. Nobody I've played with has ever shown up with anything that sounded better than it, it gets a lot of compliments.

Mark IV into that cab kills.

No thread would be complete without the daily dose of sarcasm....

Yeh definitely not fashionable

All of the manufacturers should just have their cabinets come with velcro badges so that you can keep up with the trends

      Plus, they just don't mesh with a 2-Rock.

And for any Diezel owner who's wondering, a Herbert on that cab with MC90's up top, and EVM12L's on the bottom was the best I've a Diezel sound.

What, no super duper modded to hell marshall? Shocked. Not really. Love g.e. smith, and another good example of a great musician using stock stuff to work with

The mesa metal grill 412 with 2MC90's and 2 EVM-12L's and both sections closed is my only 412 can is a great cab. It is the only cab I have that sounds good with all the amps I own, a keeper fro sure.

I used to own the 212 version with 2 MC90's and it didn't measure up well at all compared to the 412. The 212 version was still heavy and big, but just didn't sound that great. I wish I would have tried an EV in the bottom section. The 212 version also was very picky about the amp I used, I was overall pretty disappointed with that cab.

I gotta admit too, that I am not wild about the looks of these cabs. They have grown on me, but to me there are better looking cabs on the market.

Yeah the "players in the know" that use them know to have a road crew to move them.

Don't be stupid, the selection process goes protein, wine then cab.

Yep, I had one and it was the heaviest 4x12 that I've ever lifted.

But once it's set up in the bedroom, there's no more worries

Funny you saw that, I use mine as the cab I take out with me due to the fact I do not give a crap what happens to it and it is built like a brick shithouse

Now the Diezel 4x12 I have with no handles...................... :scared:

I have 2 of the 4x12s plus a 4x12 roadready one. I've got 2 Bogner cubes and 4 1x12 Pacific cabs - after that all the other 1x12s, 2x12s and 4x12s are Mesa. But I love EVs. Great cabs.

++++++++++++ you're right. Aesthetics are 100% of what 50% of musicians go by to choose gear

Of course I'm right. I'd say 60%...but who's counting.
